I hope I am wrong, but I can’t help thinking it was a mistake for her to resign as governor of Alaska.

Her enemies might be able to use this effectively to cast her as a “quitter”, if she ever runs for elected office again.

She has certainly been called worse than a "quitter" already, so how does that hurt her?

Yup, Palin has been called many things and she remains extremely popular, probably the most popular Republican right now.
