Dem Strategists: Sarah Palin Is The New Rush Limbaugh
The Plum Line ^ | 03-30-09 | Greg Sargent

Posted on 03/30/2009 2:05:52 PM PDT by euram

James Carville, a key architect of the Limbaugh strategy, says Dems will be seeking to elevate Palin more and more, because she’s “an identifiable person who has a hook,” unlike GOP leaders like Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell.

Ah, yes, the politics of personal destruction. If you have a sympathetic press behind you they’re very formidable indeed. But as with Limbaugh, you take that shot, you better not miss.

They really don’t learn do they? With every person they do this to, it backfires.. They are now creating a coalition of those on the right who have been attacked fighting back.. Imagine Rush, Levin, Coulter, Rove, Palin, Jindal, and others all synchronizing their message and plan of counter attack.

The problem with using Alinsky’s method of personalizing the target is that citizens relate with individuals, thus, like with Joe the Plumber, they visualize themselves being attacked.

Think back to when Obama called out or attention to Rush Limbaugh when he met with GOP Congressional leaders; would Rush’s CPAC speech been so significant, especially among those who despised Obama but never felt inclined to listen to Limbaugh before out of his ‘legend of being a right-wing wacko’if Obama had not legitimized him as a rival to the Messiah? According to Rush recently, his ratings have gone through the roof.

With Sarah as with Rush, she does not need any more publicity, but what Carville eventually may be doing is legitimizing her as a serious threat to Obama in 2010 and 2012. I know many conservatives and Republicans are still skeptical of Sarah, some even believe the MSM’s narrative of being incompetent or a stupid moron even though there is mounting evidence, especially through Media Malpractice, that this was a complete distortion of her abilities and talent. As many Americans have taken a second look at Rush Limbaugh, I predict millions of conservatives, moderates, independents and conservative Democrats will eventually take a second look at Sarah Palin after she makes her keynote speech at the Congressional fundraising dinner in June, and I believe they will come to same conclusion as I have: Sarah Palin is a force of nature, Obama’s chief political nemesis, and the only chance that the GOP has to take back the White House in 2012.

Isn’t Sarah Palin minding business in Alaska right now, as she should be? Attacks on her now will look like the petty distraction that they are.

The left’s need for an Emmanuel Goldstein-type hate figure even when they have virtual total control over the government is pretty pathetic.

It does show a certain imbalance. You would think that, after claiming complete control of everything with the current cast of characters in place, the left would like things the way they are. Righties have their little lonely talk radio, and lefties have everything else. That the official position of the White House political operation has been systematically attack and charachiture individuals just shows the nastiness in their hearts.

Sarah can’t go on any national show until after the Alaskan legislature allows her ‘out of her cage’ once it adjourns on April 17th, or she would be subject to ethics violations.

The better question is whether we’re going to rally round Sarah the way we did Rush.

they want you to nominate Palin.

Wrong. If so they'd push her up to ensure her nomination and tear her down in the general election. They did the same with McCain.

They fear Palin, because only she can unseat Zero. Therefore she has to be stopped in the tracks.

She personalized it by being so unqualified yet acting like a narcissist who thinks the country owes her something just because she wants it.

I didn't know Romney was a woman.

These are the same people who told us to lay off of Bill Clinton who was ‘inspecting’ an intern under his desk in the oval office!

He has some nerve trashing someone who isn't running for anything at the moment!

Mr. ‘drag a $1 bill through a trailer park’ Carville. He should know! He's been chasing that dollar bill for a very long time and obviously hasn't caught it yet!

Palin can’t be it. So far she has gotten away with running Alaska with press releases. She can’t even face her own legislature without a prepared press release. So far she has gotten away with it because she wasn’t in the spot light. Now that she has the spot light, what she used to get away with, she won’t be able to anymore. I wonder what it is that people want? Just a figure head? This isn’t a monarchy, it’s a Republic. And people should demand honest leaders who aren’t hiding those with the real power behind them. What has Palin said of substance lately? In her own words? Nothing. But boy she complains about the liberal press. Any fool can do that, don’t kid yourself. It takes no special talent. I hope you people are content getting played like that.

Agreed. Palin is the only candidate we have with real charisma and star power. Her substantial executive experience will only be greater for the next round, and the Dems know she’s the biggest threat against them. But by targeting her, they are elevating her all the while McCain, the competing male governors, and assorted other detractors are trying so hard to ignore that at 5’3” (or whatever) she towers over the rest of the field for ‘12.

She really needs to turn the tables on these jerks. If they have nothing to lose by continuously attacking her, then they'll never stop.

She should be filing legal action against them as well, every single chance she gets. Or, work on lining up power to impeach some of them.

One way or another, her enemies should have some skin in the game.

The ‘rats think they are so smart, yet are oblivious to their folly. The person they elevate to be the anti-Obama will be the rallying point of disaffected Americans who are fed up with the obamanation.

I really want Carville to spend November 2, 2010 and November 6, 2012 with a trash can on his head.

Disgusting little piece of trash isn't he?!

What an ugly bunch, Carville, Begala & Podesta. PUUUUKKKKE!

There is NOTHING they won't do to trash people they disagree with. NOTHING! Then, they try to lecture everyone else on ‘the politics of personal destruction’. They can KMA!

You would think so. But when you have a limitless amount of money to spend, and you see someone as a bitter enemy and more formidable in the future, what you would do is to try to take your enemy out before he/she gets too strong, nip her political ambitions in the bud. That is what Obama is attempting to do right now with the anklebiters, internet trolls and the Alaskan Democratic Party now at his command and in full battle mode.

And Sarah can’t fight back until after April 17th. To you hundred of thousands of FR readers or posters please, can you just understand this one tidbit of logic.

But despite Sarah being hamstrung and virtually defenseless against national attacks, Sarah is still able to command a huge and growing following. That folks is called star power.

Consider the days and months after April 18th her coming-out party.
