Palestinian casualties in Gaza exceed 1,300 (UN Source on Jan 20, 2009; after the Israeli ceasefire)

And schmucks like bin Laden (supposedly) and all the usual cheerleaders have the nerve to compare what happened to the attackers in Gaza to the Holocaust.

Even if the folks in Gaza were pure as the driven snow, how does this "holocaust" compare to what happened here on September 11, 2001?

Every premature casualty is tragic. However, not just Gaza, but the entire Palestine-Israel conflict since 1948, pales in comparison to some relatively less-publicized events, e.g.:

Sri Lankan Civil War(Wikipedia)

Date 23 July 1983 – present Location Sri Lanka Status Ongoing Territorial changes Less than 45 square kilometers occupied by the LTTE ...

Casualties and losses

17,066 SLA soldiers killed as of 2001;[4]

3,800+ SLA soldiers killed after 2001;[5][6][7]

1,500 IPKF soldiers killed;

1,000 Sri Lankan police killed[8][9]

19,877 Tigers killed as of 2007;[10]

2,200 (LTTE claim) - 9,000 (SLA claim) Tigers killed in 2008[11][12]

The casualties in Gaza have been halved. Several groups, including the UN, have said that their initial figures were all wrong, and the Palestinians lied.

Nothing new here except that for the first time, a major UN propaganda disinformation program has been corrected, by some of their own members.
