Olberman Taken to the Woodshed.
Federal Review ^ | 09/12/2006 | marblehead17

"We Have Not Forgotten, Mr. President."

The man The Nation declares to be the "best news anchor on television today", Keith Olbermann (who wasn't even the best of his SportsCenter team), apes the archetypal modern liberal pose of self-righteous indignation, beginning his rant trying to establish his sincere emotional response to 9/11 as some kind of solid foundation that can support a whining, anti-Bush diatribe. Sorry, Mr. Olbermann, but no amount of feeling regarding 9/11 can give legitimacy to your cockamamie arguments.

He whines, again, that since the President didn't adopt his preferred policies, it is the President's fault for destroying American unity.

"History teaches us that nearly unanimous support of a government cannot be taken away from that government by its critics. It can only be squandered by those who use it not to heal a nation's wounds, but to take political advantage.

Terrorists did not come and steal our newly-regained sense of being American first, and political, fiftieth. Nor did the Democrats. Nor did the media. Nor did the people.

The President -- and those around him -- did that."

But he forgets so much. It was a unified nation that cheered the war in Afghanistan. And it was a bona fide, bipartisan Congress that, fully aware of the risks, dangers and goals, authorized the war in Iraq. And when that war started, it was the American people who approved of the war, with 75% approving of the action in April 2003.

The problem on MSNBC is not this nutcase, Olberman, but the boss, Dan Abrams. That Abrams lets two maniacs loose and flapping (Matthews & Olberman), proves MSNBC is going nowhere fast.

I remember a DAY OR TWO after 9/11/01, I read an article by someone on the internet criticizing, berating, and blaming President Bush for the attacks. It made me almost as mad to read his garbage as the attacks themselves had done. I'd never heard of this particular person before. His name was Michael Moore.
There was NEVER any unity and they've NEVER gotten over the election and that is what this is ALL about.

Actually it is all a big lie. The left was already carping that we had done nothing before we began action in Afghanistan and the were carping we were bogged down the day before the Taliban collapsed.

The hard left of the Olbermann ilk were the ones who end national unity. To them bipartisanship has always begun and ended with Republicans adopting their positions. If the GOP won't cooperate, bipartisanship is done.

They're having a group orgasm over at DU. Here is what they are sending.

"Hello,

We apologize for this interruption, but the DU Admins were so blown away
by Keith Olbermann's watershed commentary last night (Sept. 11, 2006) that
we've decided to take unprecendented action and send this special private
message to each of our members to let you know about it.

This morning, The Nation called Keith Olbermann "without a doubt the best
news anchor on television today." We agree. Video of his commentary is
available at the link below. Please email it to your friends, family,
co-workers, elected representatives, and anyone else who you think needs
to see it. Keith's commentary deserves a wide audience.

Video:

Regards,

The DU Administrators"

I deleted the video link. Who wants to see that junk.

I don't listen to the AH Olberman - but for some reason heard his rant yesterday! He was editorializing and was way off base, not to mention simply sounding stupid!

And the "Olbermann doesn't talk about defeating the people who hijacked and crashed four airplanes on September 11, 2006" bit.

I watched about 3 minutes' worth since I'd never heard of Olberman and somebody posted it on a neutral message board I frequent as "moving." Yeah, moving all right - my bowels. Why the @#$% is he blaming Bush for not having a memorial at the site??! As I recall it has more to do with the politically correct lefties fighting those who truly want a memorial. If NYC came up with some consensus as to what they wanted to put there, I'm sure the money would show. Personally I like the towers of light, perhaps a small park with a memorial. For the rest of the space, put up another building, something that would make like NY's skyline look like them giving the finger to anyone else who could consider attacking.

He's an delusional ass, but the only thing he was right about was the hole in the ground at ground Zero.
Why in the world is there not even a corner stone layed down?

Let's put aside the fact that President's of our country don't build buildings .. property owners do

1) took time to search for remains of those killed on 9/11

2) takes time to clear all the debrie of those huge buildings that fell

3) took time figure out what plans they would use to build the new towers

4) Then there are all the insurance companies and all the red tape involved

5) Let's also not forget all the committee's involved who had to put their 2 cents in

6) the 9/11 families also had a big debate on what kind of memorial to have at the site

I could go on with my list .. but I think I made my point

This isn't I dream of Genie where all one has to do is snap your fingers and poof those buildings are back up

President Bush isn't in charge of putting up new buildings???

Well. I'd be. I learn something new everyday.

Your list was all pretty much completed years ago.

FIVE YEARS and still a hole in the ground. The citizens of New York should be ashamed.

I have no idea why you thought I was taking at shot at Bush

Until we rebuild bigger and better the Islamic fascists will still have a victory

Trump presented a plan to rebuild the towers exactly as they were only 1 story higher. But of course they poo pooed that. I think it is the perfect plan. Let the terrorists see those towers exactly like they were.

My personal opinion is the twin towers should be rebuilt on the same foot print, but 1776 ft tall with a giant middle finger superimposed on the structure facing east.

Olberman nails himself to the wall. I wonder what his ratings are like since his rant. Not that you can get much worse ratings than the lowest ratings on MSNBC, but he seems to incredibly out of touch with anyone other than the Air America fans.
