Rescue plane hunting missing Titanic submarine with five on board 'hears banging' coming every 30 minutes from near wreck site - raising hopes men are ALIVE as search enters make-or-break day

4Hope of finding the Titan five - the crew on board a missing sub on an expedition to the Titanic shipwreck - have grown after rescue groups reported 'likely signs of life' and 'banging sounds.'

A Canadian Aircraft, part of the enormous search mission looking for the missing Titanic tourists, heard 'banging' at 30-minute intervals in the area the submarine disappeared.

The banging was noted in emails exchanged with the US Department of Homeland Security and seen by Rolling Stone.

Richard Garriot de Cayeux, President of The Explorers Club, confirmed in a Tuesday night social media post that 'there is cause for hope.'

In a statement he said: 'We have much greater confidence that 1) There is cause for hope, based on data from the field - we understand that likely signs of life have been detected at the site.'

It's unclear when the banging sounds were heard, and officials have not confirmed the reports or said they have found the crew that has been stuck in the deep Atlantic Ocean since the submersible launched Sunday and quickly lost contact with others.

Who writes this stuff? How does one hear banging noises on an airplane from a submersible underwater?

Pretty sure they are leaving a few things out.

Sonobuoys? Perhaps from a sub hunter?

If I were stuck in that sub I would probably bang on the hull a little more often than every 30 minutes…just saying.🙄🤪🪓

I agree not well written. Sonobouys (sp?) have been a great tool as underwater ears able to communicate with aircraft.

When the Kursk sank and Norway offered to rescue the sailors, Putin refused and all aboard died.

“ But how do you get to them and raise them up?”

That comes later. The top priority is to attach an Oxygen line.

The DSRV’s maximum operating depth is approximately 1524 meters (5000 feet).

Titanic is at 12,500 ft depth. Robotics attaching a 12,500 ft winch cable or inflatable floatation bags is the only way they may be brought back up.

I can’t imagine the horror speaking as someone who has to be sedated for an MRI.

the whole thing has never passed my smell test.

yeah, fishy

I wonder what the response capability is for detecting downed subs with people who just want fresh clams, chowder and burgers.

“The top priority is to attach an Oxygen line.”

How long is this oxygen line and who is going to attach the oxygen line to the submersible?

Marine patrol aircraft like the P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon can detect noise from submerged submarines.

The top priority is to attach an Oxygen line.

On the CBS report from last year, they show how the vessel is sealed (once the passengers are inside) with 18 large bolts, with no other entry or exit routes. There didn't appear to be any ports for an oxygen tube.

When I was a kid my family knew the Sec. of Hughes Tool. We had another friend who was an engineer and designed cranes. Together these two guys worked on setting up the Glomar Exlorer to raise a Russian sub from the ocean floor. They said they did it.
