Many variations on spelling, all acceptable. I am trilingual so my tolerance permits adaption.
Disney theme parks are not large enough to accommodate the number of people that want to go to them. They use prices as a form of crowd control.
I have heard that you need to make an appointment to ride a ride but if your have lots of money you can buy a pass that will always get you to the head of the line and the best part is all the suckers waiting their turn do not know you are getting special treatment.
I have not been to Disneyland since the mid 1980s and the crowds and the cost then were more then I wanted to deal with.
LOL. The line was blocks long waiting to get in. If anything, their prices are too LOW.
So very true. Last time I went to Disneyland (2012) we took 5 family member from out of state. The admission was $1600 for 8 people. They enjoyed it so I didn’t mind the cost but have not been back since then and can only imagine what it costs now.
Disney keeps increasing its prices, but the quality of its American parks continues to decline due to cost cutting and the Imagineers being heavily limited artistically by the suits’ greed and lack of vision. Eventually that will catch up to them. But for now, the people keep coming.
Priced a car rental in Orlando yesterday - $90 for a compact. Normally this time of year it would be about $30
Scarce supply and high demand.
This is economics.
They could expand the parks (increase supply) to accommodate the demand, but they would have to lower prices (greater supply puts downward pressure on prices).
So if they add supply, they might merely break even for profits, while adding risk that the demand will dissipate in future years and leave them with too much supply, which could be devastating.
Disney has SO MANY foreigners visiting the parks they don’t need Americans, just like the NBA they have astronomical sales in China they don’t need Americans simple as that!!
Their on-property hotel rates have always been outrageous. This is nothing new.
Disney is overrated. Don’t care.
If somebody wants to pay $800 for an afternoon of crap, it’s their right.
Hotel rooms all over California doubled and tripled in the last two weeks.
Cancelled my trip to Santa Barbara over it.
Stayed in Vacaville for $130 and drove 40 minutes to Napa the next morning.
Very enjoyable and had the most awesome shaved ribeye with guyre cheese sandwich and a couple glasses of Duckhorn Cabernet...
Great time
Disney was always too expensive.
Ick, who’d want to take their kids there during Pride Month?
IOW, a big salami sandwich served by over paid employees. For lunch, I threw together a salami and slice American cheese with mayo on cheapo white bread. Cost was about 25 cents. Ok, so I didn’t have a potato side dish but a russet potato and ketchup costs 20 cents.
It’s more fun sitting at home with a 45 cent meal and laughing at those bankrupt Disney goers.
No, they are not all acceptable. From one of your Google hits:
The reason you’re likely here reading this article is you need to know the spelling of “horderves” and not knowing it, you simply sounded it out. While the word may sound like horderves, this is not the correct spelling. The correct spelling of horderves is hors d’oeuvres.
Rental cars across the country are pretty much $100/day. This is everywhere. They sold off there fleet when Covid hit. Now they are trying to replenish but waiting for cars because of the chip shortage.
Disney should take the occasion of Covid to have an institutional-epiphany regarding the errors of their political philosphy!
Disney World under Governor DeSantis was allowed to operate and stop the hemorrhaging of cash and profits. They still had layoffs, but were allowed to operate.
Disneyland - Under California’s moonbat-Newsome was a full stop. Shut down!
Still, they lead with the liberal pap, despite it’s ruination of half of their business!
We already have one in D.C. :)
Rutherford Grill? Best sandwich.
