My uncle, a proud Korean war vet, returned intact from the war and lived in a trailer park for years with his new bride while getting his diesel mechanic degree on the GI bill. He worked for Cummins Diesel for 40 plus years, purchased a single family home, raised a family, and investing in several apartments that he managed as he amassed his wealth. He was the epitome of an American hero in my eyes.
