Should they try something like this again, they will slump in people’s minds quite a bit. They gave him full support last time. What’s different except trying to hold onto the abortion issue? If the democrats lose this issue, they lose a lot of votes, enough to lose them the next couple of elections.
This man is highly qualified and they know it. If they pull the old democratic ploy of trying to stand united, they will go down. He belongs on the Supreme Court and they know it. They know, however, how he will vote on abortion, the killing of children. That is what they are objecting to. That is what this is all about.
I am not too sure about that continuum. I se Gorsuch to the right of Roberts and a little to the left of Scalia.
