I think the Saudi goose is getting cooked. Folks, the following has been going on in Saudi Arabia. The ground war has now come inside Saudi Arabia. Yemeni forces are poised around Najran.

Since June this year the US has steadily been cutting off arms, bombs, weapons and support to the Saudi aggression on Yemen. The US has cancelled a tank deal to replace Abrams tanks destroyed by the Yemenis. Resupply of cluster bombs have also been cancelled. Now military advisors have been withdrawn from Saudi Arabia. Here is the news :

The Saudis are a disgusting people and sponsors of terror BUT... and this is a big but, after the fall of the Iranian Shah in 1979, the US put all it's strategic eggs in the Saudi and Egyptian baskets.

Israel was always downplayed in order to please the Arabs even though she was/is the ONLY strategic and reliable US ally in the region.

The Obama administration stabbed Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Israel in the back at critical junctures these last 8 years.
Even though we are less reliant on Saudi Arabia, how can the US support the growing Russian-Iranian hegemony in the region at the expense of Egypt and Saudi Arabia?
Iran will eventually attack Saudi Arabia for her oil (thier already doing this in Yemen) and Mecca & Medina. She will; also attack Israel and that is why there is a growing grand alliance between the Sunni nations and Israel. They will have no choice but to launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran because the US is just...nonexistent and cannot be relied on for sh*t.

If Trump is elected, there is a possibility that this dangerous trend can be reversed. If Hilliary is elected, the Middle East is now FIRMLY in the hands of Russia and Iran. That leaves tiny Israel to fend off these new Evil Empire blocs...alone

I have no respect for the Saudis. Revolting people.

I met a brit who was a military cook, and then later a cook for a large hotel in London. He said the saudi's would rent rooms and literally shit on the floor.

that’s nice.

Except it’s wrong:

The U.S. State Department and Pentagon Tuesday OKed a $1.2 billion sale of 153 Abrams tanks to Saudi Arabia Tuesday.

I hope you are correct, but I fear you are wrong.

it is incredible that no one in the USA or the UK learns about the Saudi massacre of innocents in Yemen. This is conveniently swept under the carpet while a frenzy is whipped up about the Russians in Syria - conveniently forgetting that the entire Syrian war was started by the West letting the Saudis try to overthrow a secular dictator and replace with jihadis

The only protection against neutron weapons is hydrogen i.e. WATER.

You can create a water shrouded bunker and launch small neutron devices to keep an enemy away.

A good plan to take and destroy hardened enemy targets like the Iranian nuclear sites.

And I do not know enough to comment on which of the two we should support.

Neither or both! Neither if we don't have the money...er...How many trillion are we in debt?; or both...if we did!

It sounds like Obama is being as good an ally to the Saudis when the chips are down as he is to the Israelis.

I see a thread here--maybe despite his Sunni roots in Indonesia, he's more of a Valjar Shiite. He hasn't withheld anything from the Iranian mullahs. He has bent over forwards and backwards to give them more concessions and support than they or anyone else could have believed possible.

Well, there is some opposition in Syria, where Obama is not so covertly supporting factions allied with ISIS, but that's just because he caught his pud in the proverbial zipper with his anti-Assad redline.

Lots of one hand, other hand thinking about this. Downfall of Saud has many benefits. But it also further empowers Iran.

Early this August, the Pentagon announced plans to sell weapons worth $1.15 billion to Saudi Arabia. The news itself was not surprising as the Arab kingdom is one of America’s biggest arms buyers, but the timing of the announcement was rather conspicuous. The Saudis had resumed heavy bombardment of Yemen after a lull as part of the peace process. By deciding to send in more tanks and armaments to Saudi Arabia at a time when the kingdom faces severe international criticism for rights violations in Yemen, including the killing of children, the U.S. was unmistakably sending a message that it’s with Riyadh in this war.

I think the Saudi goose is getting cooked.

In our dreams.

This, given they still own a large part of the International and US media, AND importantly, the Clinton-Bush Crime Family.

Ding!

I have an acquaintance locally who has nice scars on his arms from when he was a US advisor to KSA armored car forces during a border clash, and his armored car took a hit from a Yemeni T-62 (IIRC - might have been a T-72) that he survived. I want to say this was at least 20 years ago, but it may have been more like 30.

Oh, and the Yemeni tank took a TOW or two, and went bye-bye.
