LOUISVILLE, Miss. â In single strokes after the massacre of nine black churchgoers in Charleston in June, Confederate battle flags were taken from statehouse grounds in South Carolina and Alabama, pulled from shelves at major retailers like Walmart and declared unwelcome, if to (limited effect), at Nascar races.
What happened so swiftly elsewhere is not so simple in Mississippi. The Confederate battle flag is not simply flying in one hotly disputed spot at the State Capitol but occupying the upper left corner of the state flag, which has been flying since 1894. (And as recently as 2001), Mississippians voted by a nearly two-to-one ratio to keep it. Recent ( polling) suggests the majority have not changed their minds.

No, I don’t warrant nor desire the respect of people who have none for themsellves such as you have demonstrated and continue to. I have no desire to communicate any further with the vulgar boor that you are. Shut up, stop posting to me and if you continue to keep up this abuse I’ll report you to the moderator.
jmacusa and rockrr are just a couple of little ankle biters. They prowl the Freeper hallways looking for Southern based threads to vent their hatred on. They deal in spin, snark and lies. They had a few compadres in their little posse that were finally outed as flaming liberals trolling FR and were given the ban hammer. One of them was an especially detestable creature that went by the handle of non-sequitur. However, their diminished ranks hasn’t diminished their hatred for their fellow Americans, both past and present. But they are kinda cute in their own little way. Watching these two post is a bit like watching midget wrestling with them being the mental midgets trying to wrestle weighty issues.
Because you are brainwashed and do not understand history and have bought into the fairly tale ensures you will never understand. But you serve a useful purpose as a backboard to educated many more intelligent freepers in states rights and the old republic, the one Lincoln killed.
Thanks Adolf.
Despite your fractured sentence structure you managed to pass a little nugget of truth. Yes, I do serve to help educate errant or downright foolish FReepers like you on the difference between revisionist southron claptrap and the true history of events. Claptrap like "the one Lincoln killed" LOL
Thanks for the endorsement!
I also remember battling with non-sequitur, who was every bit as liberal as jmacusa and rockrr. Before these scumbags, we also had whiskeypapa infecting the boards for years. It is always good to out these trolls.
And still is. How do you explain that?
Don't even try saying it's just a handful of 'lost causers' here on FR. It's as widespread and common in both regions today as in 1860.
I hate using the LOL abbreviation but, coming from you, it expands to ROTFLMFAO!
You consistently use the liberal tool box for debate: ad homs, lies, spin, snark, self righteous indignation and, when cornered, running away.
but go most places in this nation and mention the Civil War and you're more than likely going to encounter a blank stare. Most people just don't care.
That's because most people don't have a clue. For example, lets revise your sentence above:
but go most places in this nation and mention the Constitution and you're more than likely going to encounter a blank stare. Most people just don't care.
or,
but go most places in this nation and mention the Revolutionary War and you're more than likely going to encounter a blank stare. Most people just don't care.
or,
but go most places in this nation and mention the Founding Fathers and you're more than likely going to encounter a blank stare. Most people just don't care.
or,
but go most places in this nation and mention the the Bill of Rights and you're more than likely going to encounter a blank stare. Most people just don't care.
and on and on and on.......
There's that Liberal Projection you're so famous for pokie.
Whoosh! That’s the sound of irony going right over your head.
Actually, that would be queens. A very clever Freeper some years back became suspicious about the posting habits of 'rockrr' and, after a little research determined conclusively that the 'rockrr' handle is used by multiple posters.
This Freeper noticed that 'rockrr' is posting on FR 24/7 and after comparing writing styles and tone based on time of day and day of week, and considering drug and alcohol use, made that clear determination.
Once this was pointed out it became obvious to everyone. The question is, why? Is the 'rockrr' handle used by some alphabet soup federal agency trying it elicit anti-government responses or admissions of membership in anti-government and/or hate groups? Or is it a left wing group routinely trolling various conservative and gun sites for some reason? Who knows?
I recently started posting here after a 3 year hiatus and am not surprised a bit to see the 'rockrr' cadre is still in business. It's a rather interesting method of trolling but, I guess everybody needs a hobby or, perhaps, a job............
“It was the taking up of arms against the duly elected government.” - J
If I am not mistaken, several Southern States took legal action through their duly elected legislatures to separate themselves from the United States many months before shooting started.
No Southern leader was convicted of treason. (Let that sink in...)
If you dispute that assertion please name the parties.
They were all pardoned under one of the four amnesty proclamations that Andrew Johnson issued during his term in office.
Ok - so stop talking like anyone was guilty of treason. They were not.
And OJ was not guilty of murder, either.
I bet rockrr is both of what you said - i.e. part of a left wing group/government POS trolling the site for years.
But mostly, I think it's just that we have a forum for Civil War discussion here. Most people in America probably aren't thinking about what happened 150 years ago all the time. Outside of specific Civil War forums, every four years you get somebody or other saying the country should split up again. It's tied to the elections, and it always gets an audience with the losing side. It can be cynical as well, since it's a good way for a disgraced journalist or aspiring blogger to get hits on the Internet.
Not only was no Southern leader ever convicted of treason, no Southern leader was ever brought to trial.
President Davis petitioned for a trial for the two years he was wrongfully imprisoned only to be released on bond. A nolle prosequi was entered in his case in 1869.
Why didn't the yankees want to try President Davis for treason? It's simple; a trial would have publicly shown the legality of secession and the criminal acts of disHonest Abe and the federal government.
Some may suggest that the yankees gave a general amnesty as a compassionate gesture to heal the wounds. I say bravo sierra to that notion based on the previous four years of yankee war crimes which included the wanton destruction of private property and the rape, maiming and slaughter of non-combatants including those that they were supposedly there to set free.
I am large. I contain multitudes.
This Freeper noticed that 'rockrr' is posting on FR 24/7 and after comparing writing styles and tone based on time of day and day of week, and considering drug and alcohol use, made that clear determination.
Whose drug use? The "very clever Freeper's"?
"This Freeper" is obviously an idiot. But probably considers himself to be a genius. It's usually like that.
And every cockamamie hypothesis people like that come up with is always "conclusively determined."
