You can ignore ALL religious articles, regardless of where they are posted.
Religious threads are not just confined to the religious forum. They pop up everywhere. That’s part of the problem.
Believe me, it’s MUCH WORSE on OTHER Free Republic Forums. The Religion Forum is managed better than the other ones!

NO WAY! I would NEVER abolish the Religion Forum, as its moderation is MUCH BETTER than any of the other forums on Free Republic.
The nasties have already shown up on this thread; however, I think the past six years have been the worst. We’ve let obama syndrome set in and instead of working together we bicker and argue.
Coming from you, one of the most vicious posters on the religious forums, that is hysterical. You never turn the other cheek, you and your crew always have to have the last word and if you have ever posted a kind word about a Catholic I have never seen it.
And while I AM a believer in Christ, I am a Gnostic. You may need to sit down for a while to digest that heresy!
You can’t have discussion without having disagreements.
Of course, the way you handle those disagreements can sometimes be disagreeable.
The key is .. stop telling other people what they can and cannot believe. Everybody has a choice .. everything in life is about choice. If you don’t like somebody’s choice .. oh well .. just go on to the other msgs of those with whom you do agree.
I’ve been a member here for a very long time; I’ve seen good and I’ve seen terrible people come here and try to disrupt everything. Some of them do it out of some need to run roughshod over everybody. Some do it to try to prove to everyone they are smarter than the rest. Some of them gang up on people .. just to show they are better at ..??????
This is not to say that you have to stand for lies, or slander, or any such thing. All you have to do is press the “abuse” button and you can get the issue resolved.
I’ve noticed that most of the newcomers are very short tempered and tend to view us long-timers as out of date and not worthy of speaking or having an opinion about anything. And .. when they do speak to us, they are RUDE, can’t spell, use the wrong tense of words, don’t know how to use punctuation, etc. We should pity them .. they have been indoctrinated by the left all their life. It may take them some time to realize that the WHOLE WORLD does not follow the liberal mindset.

I share many of the same sentiments that you've expressed. As a Gen X'er whose been lurking since the late 90's as a teenager and only a recent participant in the FR RF its obvious it's nothing but a haven for bitter, old, so-called Christians whose behavior is what they substitute for not having a church. Their own personal brand of "Christian fellowship."
Always remember that their brand of Christianity always begins with the negative proposition of being against Christ's Church, rather than being for Christ.
The future does not belong to such people. Their fractured doctrine and lack of adherence to moral truth makes it a fait accompli. So stick around.

The Religion Forum was created so that the fighting could be contained within that area ... and ... “Special Moderation” given there that is not done in any other area. I appreciate the Religion Forum and the special moderation.
It is also wise to avoid threads about the Civil War and marijuana legalization, they always end in flames.
