Here is another. You have to be insane to think that we we OR ANY PARTY will have a 2/3 majority in the Senate. It Just Doesn't Happen! Particularly in such a closely divided country.

It is not logical to think that it would be easier to get 19 additional Republican seats while keeping all the ones they have instead of getting one Republican to act a little more conservative.

It is not rational thinking.

The Democrats held a 2/3 majority in the Senate in 1965. That's right, only 47 years ago. Perhaps there's not enough grey in your hair to known that. Wise up. Saying "it just doesn't happen" and "you have to be insane" to think any party can have such a majority shows the limits of your analysis. Here's another tidbit for your edification. In 1934, the democrats in the Senate were four seats short of a 2/3 majority. Certainly you are aware of the New Deal and other programs Roosevelt signed during this time period, or perhaps you missed that day of history class too. The point is, as you wring your fingers and believe the sky is falling if we don't help elect a liberal like Romney, realize the fear of the thing is greater than the thing itself. And that works against the Senate democrats too. You'll be amazed at what can be accomplished if we make significant gains in the Senate even if we don't quite reach the 2/3 mark. I won't intentionally throw a member of the opposition, like Romney, into the middle of our circle so a circular firing squad can ensue and our progress be erased, using my vote. You wring your fingers and do whatever you want with yours.
