A third party is not going to win at the national level. That’s a certainty. It will, however, take away from electoral votes from only one of two possible candidates who CAN win, Romney or Obama. I won’t contribute to the plan of putting a Marxist back into the White House because the GOP-e has picked another crappy statist with an “R” after his name for whom I must vote.
Now, if the Democrat was Zell Miller, I’d gladly vote third party because Zell would probably win and he’d be 90% better than Romney, but not with the certainty that the “D” who’s a Marxist will win with the same strategy.
Sooner or later, I fully expect America to be put back on its principled, moral, constitutional basis. As Winston Churchill said: “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they’ve tried everything else.”
