If you want to really appreciate FR just visit DU.

Posted on 09/16/2004 12:08:50 AM PDT by TechnicalEcstacy

Of course I know Im not making any revelations here, but a quick visit to DU is like observing a microcosm of what's wrong with the Democrats. The total inability to even make an attempt at the truth. The juvenile cracks and remarks completely devoid of wit or humor. Did you know that all mainstream media is right-wing and facist ? Just visit the DUdu and they'll set you straight son.(sarc)

In comparison, I come onto FR and I find mostly decent, thoughtful, witty, intelligent people. People that will be a force to be reckoned with from here on out. I think in this ever more complicated and volitile world, bloggers will bring politics into the 21st century. Without it, I doubt we could keep our heads above all this muck. God bless FR TE

"Capitol Grilling" is one of the least indecent sites of the leftleaning ilk. One of their posters opined about FR that "I can't stand to go there anymore. But they're right more often than they're wrong."

I know you won't be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered, but would you mind if I filed you in my mind as one hell of a fascinating writer?

Thanks! I would be flattered!

In other words he said; "I know were wrong, but it feels better with my head up my rear-end"

Have to check that site out when I feel like purging.

By the way, I also visited DU to see what was going on over there. I now know what Alice felt like after tumbling down the rabbit hole. Couldn't get back to the "real world" side of the looking glass fast enough.

I get a kick out of there "hypocracy police". The DU'ers who try to be fair and say, well if we do this, how is that different if they do it, etc.

Somone automatically flips and the answers are usually clear with a "Because we are right and they are wrong, we are good and they are evil". They use that logic to justify everything, from terrorism to threats of violence, etc. They even use that as a legitmate reason to "trick" voters into voting there way or committing voter fraud.

DU is beyond insanity. I would never go there, not even at gunpoint. If I go there, I have to gouge my eyes out seriously. Very vile place. Free Republic is really cool. It is very fast paced.

As a survivor of the early days of AOL news rooms, I can tell ya'll that the media blackout of Clinton's past began well before 1992. My wife has relatives in Arkansas who phoned to beg us to get the word out about this slimy piece of scum.
There were some who knew the truth about his behavior, and made honest attempts to inform others.
There were many of us in those early days,(DOS 6.22,Windows 3.1)who were convinced that Clinton would be laughed out of the race, based solely on his military (or lack therof)history, and failing that, we were ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN his history of cocaine use, treatment of women, and the enormous suicide rate in Arkansas, (the only place in the world where a person can commit suicide with two different weapons), would come out. NO WAY would the American people stand for this, NO WAY. They got fooled, BIG TIME.

I don't think that their is a such thing of a moderate democrat period anymore.

If it's anything like the message boards on Yahoo for the Rather stories, I can imagine how bad it must be. At least on Yahoo there are a few conservatives on there as well.

I was banned from DU for asking questions that were in no way offensive to anyone who cares about democracy.

They just have a different world view. I don't crash their party, and they shouldn't crash ours. I do peek from time to time, but don't contribute.

It's important to get all points of view. However, I was viewed as an agitator and Freeper "operative." When, in fact, I'm neither.

DU is rather entertaining. It's the closest thing I've found to Jerry Springer on the internet.

Many of them would seem to be very young. So, I suppose your view depends on how much slack you want to cut them in light of their youth.

Pure Liberal Extremism put us in that position...

I bet a common point of discussion was that the mainstream media had a blackout on the damning evidence against Clinton.

You got that right. There was no CBS willing to spend five years taking clinton down.

And FR had NO credibility. Sometime around 1998 Drudge stopped linking to FR because there were no moderators and racist comments slipped in. It got pretty wild.

Lucianne Goldberg dropped out and started her own site (which I find boring beyond tears. I only visit it when FR is down.)

The current FR is moderated, but allows some play. We still post in our PJ. We are allowed to post directly to each other.

Me too, but in politics, you will be ineffectual, compromising, overrun and ultimately, we will lose America to the Communists. "Moderate" American politics exhibited by the GOP is extremely responsible for our 2 Party system consisting of a Communist party and a Socialist party.
