Florida's Republican-controlled legislature has passed a measure to replace mentions of “climate change” in many state laws and has sent it to GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis for him to sign into law
The bill, which focuses on energy security, removes all explicit mentions of climate change, according to Scripps News, and directs the state only to “promote the cost-effective development and use of a diverse supply of domestic energy resources.”
The bill also eliminates guidelines for the government to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions from fossil fuels, and it prohibits new wind energy construction within a mile of Florida’s coastline.
The bill was officially sent to DeStantis on Tuesday, and he has until May 15 to sign it into law.
Just a question: if climate change is real and oceans will rise and winds will howl who’s financing those tall condominium buildings being built along the Florida coast?
Banks have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders and management could be sued by intentionally losing money when the expected flooding begins.
Florida is a state that actually still seems to work. Kudos to the Florida legislature and DeSantis.
My thoughts exactly.
Good move! The term “Climate Change” has been hijacked by the left to mean something totally different from historic English meanings. To the left, ‘climate change’ means Catastrophic Man-made Global Heating. Scientists use the term “catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming” - CAGW.
“Climate Change” has been around for all of earth’s 5+ billion year history and it continuous on. We 8 billion humans are doing quite well, thanks. The exact spot I’m sitting at right now was covered by a mile thick ice sheet just some 12,000 years ago. That’s climate change, thank goodness. We presently live a short ‘interglacial’ in The 2.5 million year long (so far)Ice Age.
The Ice Age is clearly not caused by burning fossil fuels. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll have a few years before the glaciars return with a vengeance. The present interglacial has already lasted a bit longer than typical.
Meanwhile, Florida still hasn’t secured its elections or protected its budget from threats by Deep State.
Go figure.
Thanks for the update Harry Reid reincarnate.
