I’ve got so many stories. I swear this is true: These guys (roman catholic priests) would endorse and affirm the tenets of conservatism and at the very freaking end would say to vote Democrat.

I can’t prove it - I was a little kid at the time! lol but I remember it

I’ve read articles in the last 10 years or so that describe how catholic laity and clergy just sit placidly getting lectured by the likes of Planned Parenthood and La Raza - they don’t make any sort of objection.

And the loyal catholics who may actually be conservative just go along with it. Illegal aliens get installed into their communities without anyone’s vote or approval.

This has already happened with disastrous results in Europe and the UK.

I think you know the answer to your question regarding David.

Does it change your opinion of him?

And in the same chapter as Thou shalt not steal., the Sabbath is very serious matter. The Pharisees took it so seriously (regardless); they added many restrictions to try to prevent sin, and yet there were extenuating circumstances and exceptions that they missed and they ended up sinning by their lack of mercy and judgment in matters of sin.

The Pharisees added to Scripture in their attempt to build a wall around the Law so it wouldn't be broken. What they didn't realize was no matter how much a person tried not to break the Law, they were already condemned by the Law as no one could keep it perfectly.

    It’s funny.

So many people want to see the miraculous, like people used to in Bible times.

It doesn’t seem to occur to them the situations in which the miraculous occurs. Do they really want to be up against the Red Sea or Fiery Furnace? Or unjustly thrown in prison?

    You shall not steal.

    *****

You continue to conflate Roman Catholic theology with Biblical theology.

That’s why I said it it’s wrong. But assuming there is no other circumstance that would make it worse than the straightforward scenario of stealing five cents from a millionaire, it is a venial sin and would not send the nickel thief to hell.

You're contradicting the Bible with your last statement.

So do you agree that some sins are worse than others?

Yes, and not only that, but the knowledge of the sinner must be taken into account.
    Luke 12:
    1. Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
    2. And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
    3. Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
    4. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
    5. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
    6. The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
    7. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
    8. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

LOL, yes. Should have been regardless. Exodus 20:15 is the reference.

Did David steal when he lied to Ahimelech the priest to eat the consecrated bread ?

    1Sam.21
    1. Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
    2. And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
    3. Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present.
    4. And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
    5. And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.
    6. So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.

    Exodus 25:30
And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread

And in the same chapter as Thou shalt not steal., the Sabbath is very serious matter. The Pharisees took it so seriously (regardless); they added many restrictions to try to prevent sin, and yet there were extenuating circumstances and exceptions that they missed and they ended up sinning by their lack of mercy and judgment in matters of sin.

    1. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
    2. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
    3. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

You didn't say it wasn't a sin....you did differentiate between it being a mortal sin or not.

The Bible says stealing is stealing....the amount or the item doesn't matter.

    It's stealing.

For President Trump we confess: Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. We say, He is a good man for our United States of America. He has dealt graciously and lends. Since finding You, he guides his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; he will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings, His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.

Amen to your Beautiful, Power-Filled Prayer, Dear Servant of the King of kings.

Actually I said “The term “serious matter,” though, is used in a specific sense that acknowledges the reality that stealing a nickel from a homeless man is clearly a bigger deal than stealing a nickel from a millionaire. But they are both wrong, and ultimately it is God who is offended, so in that sense, they are both serious.”

And I agree with you that under certain circumstances stealing isn’t a sin, as in the circumstances you describe.

So do you agree that some sins are worse than others?

Actually you wrote “Stealing a nickel from a millionaire would not be considered serious matter.”

but you agree that it could be serious matter depending on the value.

I suspect we might agree. I would even bring in the matter of some “stealing” not being a sin. For example, someone threw out food and a hungry person took it to eat (but not resell) even though it was on someone's else’s property. I seem to recall children in England were punished mercilessly for “stealing” bread.

I explicitly stated that stealing a nickel from a millionaire was a sin.

And yes, stealing a rare nickel worth a lot of money from a millionaire would be “serious matter”.

Stealing a nickel from a millionaire would not be considered serious matter.

Would that depend on the value of the nickel ?
For example, some millionaires collect coins and some nickels are worth a considerable amount of dollars.

Perhaps in RC theology, but the Bible notes stealing is a sin regarding of amount or item.

Did you mean “regardless” instead of “regarding?”
If so, what passages making that point are you referring to ?

The group in Revelation 19:8 clothed in fine linen are not angels. Are these armies, clothed in fine linen in Revelation 19:14, the same group?

Rev. 19:8 refers to the marriage supper of the Lamb. The saints are clothed in fine linen as the Bride of Christ. See also Rev. 7:14: “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” The angels are clothed in white also but they are not the Bride of Christ. The Church is the Bride of Christ.

Where does scripture speak of the righteousness of angels?
God covered our nakedness, first with coats of skins and later with righteousness, fine linen. Do angels put on righteousness?

Angels in the presence of God are by definition, holy. Because the LORD God is holy. But one third of the angels of heaven, who left their first estate, await judgment.

    Mark 13:26,27
“At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And He will send out the angels to gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.”
Please read Rev. 14 again. Jesus Christ and the angels have sharp sickles to harvest the Earth; to administer judgment. Where does the scriptures say that the saints will participate?
