State Department Official: U.S, Media Guilty of Treason
Newsmax ^ | 18 jun 02 | Carl Limbacher

The media in America is playing into the hands of terrorists, feeding them information that could help them stage more deadly attacks against the U.S. - and in the eyes of a top government terrorism expert what they've done amounts to treason.

Dennis Pluchinsky, a veteran intelligence analyst with the Diplomatic Security Service in the U.S. Department of State minces no words: "I accuse the media in the United States of treason," he wrote in the Washington Post.

"As a terrorism analyst, I am both appalled and confused by many of the post-9/11 articles published at home and abroad, in newspapers, news magazines and academic journals, as well as on the Internet."

According to Pluchinsky, many stories in the media have shown potential terrorists where America is most vulnerable. He cites these headlines which have appeared since 9/11: "Private Plane Charters: One Way Around Air Security," "Suicidal Nuclear Threat Is Seen At Weapons Plants," "Priority Required for Protecting Utilities," "NRC Warns of Missing Radioactive Materials," "Freight Transport: Safe from Terror?" "Chemical Plants Are Feared As Targets," "America's Roads May Be Just As Vulnerable As Its Skies," "Study Assesses Risk of Attack on Chemical Plants," "Terror Risk Cited for Cargo Carried on Passenger Jets: 2 Reports List Security Gaps," and "Truck Terrorism Possible, U.S. Says: Investigation Finds Lack of Licensing Safeguards."

Some of the stories have explicitly provided, in great detail, information of tactical use to Terrorists. He explained that our enemies simply don't have the means or ability to do the research required concerning potential targets and charged that the media "and certain think tankers and academicians," have done the legwork for potential terrorists.

He writes that he cannot understand what the media's agenda is, noting that America is at war and wonders if anyone could have conceived of our World War II enemies being given the most sensitive information in the pages of American newspapers during that conflict.

Terrorists, he explains, get their information from publicly available sources or from their personal observations. They have, he says, no other way to learn what they must learn about possible targets. The media has been a rich source for them.

After conceding that a charge of treason is a bit strong, he wrote "As a concerned terrorism analyst, I say the following to the media: You are making the jobs of terrorism analysts, intelligence officers and law enforcement officials very difficult. Help us, don't hinder us from defeating our enemies."

I think their agenda is quite clear: undermine American culture and power.

The author is correct about the idiotic media, but "Pot. Kettle. Black."

Some in the State Dept. also appear to encourage terrorism and murder.
And the State Dept.'s Peter Zimmerman hunting down
and attempting to stop those researching new energy sources is
also helping the enemy.

This morning on Fox and Friends, a guest was explaining the current weapon status of the U.S. He stated that we had plenty in six million square feet of storage space. He went on to name the base. I don't recall his name or the name of the storage facility, but I was shocked at the information release.

Mr. Thinks-To-Much-Of-Himself-and-Nothing-of-An-Informed-and-Aware-Citizenrty says: "You are making the jobs of terrorism analysts, intelligence officers and law enforcement officials very difficult."

Yep. Just another in the long long line of excuse-makers, do-nothings, and incompetents on the Federal Payrool. "Trust Us" they say, we are your betters.

Well here's some Media for Mr. My-Heads-Too-Big-For-My-Peanut-Sized-Brain: If WE wait for all you all, we'll be dead or burying our family members. And is fools like YOU in the way of getting the information and freedom of movement and action WE need, you dang gun-grabbing federal fancy-pants.

U.S. schools and universities are predominately busy teaching Marxist values to, among others, journalism majors.

And Marxists don't give a damn about American values; so ...

Wake up, America!

The fact is, mainstream media has not done its job leading up to the tragedy. Most of media is owned by the corporations and the politicians. We do not have a free press in this country, except on the internet, they tell us what we are supposed to believe about how things are in America and are not always giving us all the truth all the time. Don't blame it all on the press; Ben Laden had been on CIA payroll, the FAA allowed them flight training, and the INS enabled them to carry out their dirty deeds. Those are our tax dollars at work.

The motivating element for the media is "Pulitzer Prize".

The hell with patriotism, if I can win a Pulitzer.

And then we have the loathsome sinator from NY going on and on about how vulnerable the nuclear power plants are in the area.......

We get a news station to hire a plane and show how easy it is to fly over the nuclear plant.

To me this risk to our security for political gain is rampant and only going to get worse as the elections near.

Dennis Pluchinsky, a veteran intelligence analyst with the Diplomatic Security Service in the U.S. Department of State

The State Department?

I can’t fathom why I should care about the criticism of the press by an “intelligence analyst” (an oxymoron)in the State Department.

Were we not, in part because of the policies pursued by the State Department, unprepared for 9/11? Do we not see the ineptitude of similar government bureaucracies, as evidenced by the farce known as “airport security”?

I would like to remind this “intelligence analyst” who says that “ Terrorists get their information from publicly available sources or from their personal observations. They have no other way to learn what they must learn about possible targets.” – that the media was paying little attention to things such as airport security, driver license scams and visa fraud before 9/11 – but those 19 hijackers knew just how vulnerable we were, and exploited it – without the media’s help. If some people – such as Mr. Pluchinsky – would prefer that the public go back to blissful complacency in believing that the government is capable, or willing, to protect Americans against Islamic terrorism – that’s their prerogative, I would prefer to know just how dangerous life has become in the U.S.A., and sort out the facts from the hype myself.

The "fourth estate" has become the "fifth column". They don't even realize that when we officially become a communist country, the media and the universities will be the first institutions to be dismantled. hmm...

They're not "brain-dead," they're not stupid; well, with a few exceptions they're not.
In this as in so many other things, they have an agenda; that agenda is the complete destruction of the Bush Administration, and discrediting the conservative philosphy.
If that requires a little collateral damage, a few innocent lives lost, they'll know in their hearts it was worth it!
