When Pat Roush wants to show off her daughters, she reaches for an old Christmas photo. It's the classic family snapshot: two happy little girls in front of the tree, holding matching Pound Puppies--gifts from Santa--over their heads.

Exactly one month later, Miss Roush would lay out their black Mary Janes and party dresses for a birthday bash the girls had been looking forward to. It was a party they would never make. Kidnapped by their estranged father, seven-year-old Alia and her three-year-old sister, Aisha, were already on their way to Saudi Arabia.

Naive young American women should think twice before marrying Saudi men; they may be in for a culture shock.

You know it is ashame most of America and the rest of west does not get what we get from being participants here. If they did they would see just how out right evil Islam is! This is another of those horribly sad stories that deserves more attention.

Religion of peace and love my a$$. This is another of those examples that these evils are more than the work of isolated radicals... they are national policies of the countries of the middle east. Those poor girls, the horror of being trapped there and married off to a man not of their choosing, of having to lead a life forced on them. The horror of it is unimaginable.

It also makes one think that the best thing that will happen is when the more educated middle class over there over throws their repressive evil governments and religious leaders.

So where is our good buddy GW on this? He made such a big commotion about how he liberated the afghani women. He has waxed poetically about how important freedom is. So where is the man? Or does freedom only matter for non-american women?

There was a time when american presidents would have had informed the saudi royal family that they would find themselves metabolically challenged if they didn't fix this asap.

You're right
But I'd also add this...
Any American woman should leery of marrying any man who is a citizen of an Islamic country.
