The little fire fighter flap where Brown- McElyea (dem opponet) lied to firefighters about political use of footage appears to have gone off.

Katherine Harris writing book on Florida recount

From John Mercurio CNN Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Katherine Harris has a lot on her plate these days. She's finishing her term as Florida secretary of state, she's running for Congress and, CNN has learned, she's busy working on a book about the 2000 presidential election recount, which made her an international celebrity.

Her book is titled, "Center of the Storm: Practicing Principled Leadership in a Time of Crisis." Sources say it will feature previously unknown anecdotes from the recount and will focus on the leadership principles Harris drew upon during the process.

The book is being published by Thomas Nelson Inc., which publishes Christian and educational books. It's due out late this summer, and aides say Harris is planning a promotional tour that will lead right up to the congressional elections in November.

Man, I think I am in love...lol. You are an admirable young woman. When do you get out of school (I just graduated from HS on May 18 and I take it that you are a senior since you are taking government). My government teacher was a great guy....he said he constantly flips back and forth on the abortion issue. He clearly wrestles with it, so I admire that. Other than that, he is pretty conservative and an amazing guy...he even sits with his students at lunch instead of with teachers. He even told me one time if I want to we could go eat out somewhere or do something together sometime. I will never forget him I think.....truly is a teacher that should get paid a lot more for his affection and dedication to his students. He played part of "John Stossel Goes to Washington," a video I gave to him that shows the waste of government money and just how much is taken from the common man. The students were quite shocked by it, I must say!

Anyway, I am rambling, so I will just say thanks for the post. I will check out your paper.

Yes, this is totally amazing. I nearly fell over when I found that article about the book, because earlier she stated she wouldn't write the book b/c she didn't want to tarnish Florida, but let me tell you, when it comes out, I'll be buying that book up (if it actually comes out). Oh, yes, for all you that were wondering, I did meet with Katherine...and it was amazing. May 7th will be a day I'll never forget. She is such an amazing person, one moment you felt like you were talking with the Secretary of State and the next you were chatting with your best friend. She's very energetic, and absolutely gorgeous, those pictures and all the horrible crap the media said, is so false and pictures don't do her justice. She's very kind and not the least bit snobbish, and if you didn't realize how wealthy she is, you'd never realize it b/c she never lets on to being wealthy. She's really great and gave me a lot of great advice, all you Floridians vote for her b/c I've got an internship riding on it. That's right if she wins, I'm in! (haha). We talked about anything and everything from college to clothes to animals..you name it we covered it. I'll try and get some of the photos from my meeting loaded, if you have any other questions about Katherine feel free to ask, and also to let you know SHE visits Freerepublic and sends a "hello" to all of you!

Wonderful pictures. Had no idea that Katherine Harris was working on a book. I have a feeling that she'll be sharing her deep faith which sustained her during that challenging time.

BTW I just got some photographs taken at her first neighborhood coffee in April. I'll have to borrow a scanner to get them online so it will take awhile but I hope to eventually post them on my profile page.

Pictures do not convey just how lovely she is in person. She has a warmth, natural charm and intelligence that is very impressive.

I urge all Freepers to support, volunteer and pray that Katherine will be successful in her campaign for Congress!

OH and by the way, there's a new feature on Katherine's campaign site (www.electharris.org), you can watch two of her campaign videos using your computer's windows media player. I think this was a great addition to her site, personally because I know she's got a lot of supporters who aren't in her district and would want to watch the videos. They take awhile to load, but, personally the "security" video is excellent. Just thought I'd plug her site once again! Enjoy, ~Meredith

BTW.....that was a good paper. I enjoyed your comments showing how silly the "right to privacy" somehow being applied to abortion really is.

Yup, Katherine is the person I'm voting for, and I'm urging everyone else I know to do the same. I call her the "iron lady", after the way she held fast during the slow-motion attempted coup by the democRATs in 11/2000.

BTW, my family and I will be at the opening ceremony of the new Republican Party of Sarasota County campaign headquarters here in Osprey today at 5:30 PM EST. It's gonna be fun. Maybe I'll have a chance to rip on the leftists in front of some news cameras. $:-)

rw, I'm actually finishing 9th grade.

It's my "[Anti] American government class"

Glad you liked the paper. It was very stressful to write because I'm a very outspoken pro-lifer in class and I had a reputation to uphold! :)

Have a great time at the GOP Campaign opener & be sure to tell Katherine Harris (& others) that you are a FReeper!

She told me that all the emails & notes we sent helped her during those challenging days when she was being smeared for following Florida's election laws! She appreciates our support very much!

BTW your essay is excellent! Have you gotten any comments about it from your teacher? I've bookmarked it as it is one of the finest articles I've read on the subject.

With your permission I'd like to send it to some friends.
