Republicans in Congress have been nearly unanimous in supporting Israel, but some say they fear that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's threat to annex part of the West Bank is jeopardizing peace in the Middle East.

"The Sharon plan would add fuel to the fire," said Rep. Bob Barr of Georgia, who said he is a supporter of Israel. "I can't imagine it would be conducive to any settlement that has any likelihood of leading to peace."

The irony of course, is that the Palestinians total exit from reality makes it unlikely that Sharon's overly ambitious goals will ever really be put to the fire anytime soon. As long as the PA continues to reside in the never-never land of unrealistic goals, and execrable tactics to achieve them, Sharon will largely have a free hand. It is odd that that reality is largely only perceived in the West. The PA and the Palestinians are in the grip of a self destructive pychosis. What can get them out of it, I really don't know.

Sharon is establishing his negotiating position, ask for far more than you expect to get.

Here's something CNN, Reuters, ABC, and BBC won't show you:

Ahhh, truly a wonderful negotiating tactic.....threaten to take back half of the west bank, so the next time that the PA is offered 90% of the west bank, they will jump at it, thinking they have a great deal......brilliant

"The terrorists who attacked America and Israel are motivated by the Israeli policies toward Palestinians and not by a hatred of the West in general, and most Arabs in the region admire American culture," said Ron Schmidt, a Republican National Committee member from South Dakota. "To claim it's a cultural thing, a cultural hatred, is a cop out."

If this all about the evil Joos, maybe Mr. Schmidt could explain why Bin Laden was ranting about killing Serbs and Russians in his latest video? Try as I might I don't see the religious connection between them and the Israelis. On the other hand, if one views this as a clash with an out of control Islamic civilization, then that might explain why Bin Laden delights in killing Americans, Russians, Serbs, Indians and Joos.

MOVE THEM OUT TO JORDAN AND/OR ESTABLISH A STATE FOR THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Got to reestablish the borders of Ancient Judea and Samaria, right? Need a little ethnic cleansing? After all, God gave this land to you.

Of course, this has been the Zionist plan all along.

After all, Mohamhead gave this land to you.

To me?

First you think I'm Wotanic, because of a logon handle. Now you think I'm Muslim, because I state the obvious about Israel's goals?

Do you ever not jump to conclusions?

I couldn't care less what the Koran says about who owns Palestine. Or what the Torah says. Or what the Bible says. Except, of course, that it may be useful to know what some of the racist nutball cultists are thinking.

Calm down, Yehuda, and let's analyze your reply.

And this is where you are useless.

Just some mild abuse.

You don't even read what your enemies are saying.

False, and jumping to conclusions again.

Pick your enemy, I couldn't care less.

Huh?

Bitter ostriches like you have dragged great civilizations down for millenia

Mere assertion and the erroneous insinuation that I'm bitter.

the enemy comes up AND TELLS YOU WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO TO YOU, and you just moan and groan about their stupid cultic texts.

My enemies are those who make stupid statements like "God gave this land to us". It includes some Jews, some Christians, and some Muslims.

Here's a project for you, if you can read more than comic books:

Just more abuse.

TRY READING THOSE THREE TEXTS, all the way through, and then come back and tell us which one espouses the destruction of the U.S.

Answer: None of them.

Fools like you ignored Mein Kampf, and tens of millions died.

Yet more abuse, sigh! And jumping to conclusions again!

READ THE KORAN, genius -

First you call me a fool, then a genius? Well, at least you were right the second time!

your name and picture are right there next to mine and everyone here on FR, on the list of people to be converted or killed.

That is simply a lie.

HERE IS A PROJECT FOR YOU: LEARN HOW TO THINK.

BTW, how come only the Washington Times is talking about this Sharon plan? The Israeli papers are discussing the revival of the Peres-Abu Ala plan (can you believe it?).
