Islamic Insanity: Will They Avoid War?

These are the rational reasons why there will not be a regional war in the Middle East:

Egypt has made it clear it wants no part of a war against Israel.

The young President of Syria, Assad, seems a reluctant warrior, having much to lose and little to gain in a war. The US has warned him about support for the shelling of Israel's northern border.

Iraq's Saddam Hussein knows a US attack is coming to end his threat to the region and to our nation.

The Saudis value their oil revenue more than any military options.

Several Middle Eastern nations have already signaled their reluctance as well.

Pakistan has been providing cooperation to the US.

Iran remains vocally militant, but its people have been in the streets in the thousands denouncing the ayalloyahs running that nation. The bad blood between Iraq and Iran, based on an eight-year war, does not suggest any unity between these two nations.

The Israelis have a superior military force, plus the threat of nuclear weapons.

Middle Eastern nations purchased most of their weapons from the former Soviet Union. Much of it is old and outdated. Russia has signaled its support for US goals in the region. Other weapons are from China. Neither of these powers wants to be sucked into a major regional conflict.

Over the last week we watched the negotiations to bring about a cessation of the suicide murders in Israel and other acts of aggression against that nation. In a replay of the last several decades, we watched our Secretary of State meeting first with Prime Minister Sharon and then with Yassir Arafat. The Palestinians offered no end to their terror campaign, but it is clear that Arafat has been told that US aid for the Palestinian Authority will end if the suicide murders continue. Ordinary Palestinians know that Arafat has turned them into cannon fodder.

Here is the irrational reason war could still occur.

"We are convinced of the (future) victory of Allah. We believe that one of these days, we will enter Jerusalem as conquerors, enter Haifa as conquerors, enter Ramle and Lod as conquerors, the (villages of) Hirbiya and Dir Jerjis and all of Palestine as conquerors, as Allah has decreed..." So said Imam Sheikh Ibrahim Madhi at the Sheikh 'Ijlin Mosque in Gaza City last Friday, as broadcast by the Palestinian Authority.

Those of us old enough to actually remember World War II know in our bones the folly and futility of negotiating with madmen. I am reminded of England's Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain, who also flew about in a desperate, but doomed effort to avoid World War II.

In the days preceding World War II, the Japanese worshipped their emperor as a living god and Bushido, a warrior's code, was the guiding concept of national policy. The Germans saw themselves as a "Master Race" and re-armed to erase their failure to conquer Europe in World War I. Both were working from a perception of themselves as people who were superior to all others and immune from the laws of civilized behavior.

In the case of the Japanese, the world learned what their madness represented after the rape of Nanking, the death march of Bataan, and, in its purest form, the kamikaze pilots who flew to their deaths in a desperate effort to stop the US Navy. The insanity of the Germans was found in their death camps and the mass graves of six million Jews and five million others they killed. In their campaign to conquer Russia, the Nazis slaughtered twenty million people.

Today, the world confronts "the Arab nation"; a general view that all Muslims are superior to other religions and are compelled to pursue a holy war, the Islamic Jihad. "Ye are the best of peoples evolved for mankind." (Koran 3:110)

What is missing in all the negotiations and punditry about the crisis in the Middle East is the factor of a mass psychosis.

Is it not an act of madness to fly a commercial jet, filled with passengers, into a building? On 9.11, it occurred three times. A fourth jet was lost when the passengers attempted to save their lives. Those planes were piloted by Saudis.

Is it not an act of madness to strap on a belt filled with explosives and then kill yourself in an effort to kill non-combatant civilians? The Palestinians have done this now repeatedly and they have used children. I repeat. Children.

It is a very special kind of butchery to lure a Wall Street Journal reporter to his death, beheading him after forcing him to say, "My Father is a Jew. My Mother is a Jew and I am a Jew." This occurred in Pakistan.

Osama bin Laden has called for the death of all Americans. The Saudis write poems celebrating the suicide-murderers. They raise money to pay their families. So does Iraq. The Iranians have sent their own forces to southern Lebanon to shell the Israelis. In the late 1970s Iranians held American diplomats hostage for 444 days.

Do you seriously think the worldwide Islamic Jihad would not hesitate to kill millions of Americans in its quest?

When Americans and others try to understand what Arabs and other Muslims, are saying here at home and overseas, they do not calculate an Islamic bloodlust as part of the equation. They do not because it is incomprehensible.

To miss the essential, irrational component in their thinking is to miss their message. The Koran is filled with calls to battle, to kill Infidels. The world is not dealing with a religion of peace. It is facing a 7th century warrior cult that is gorging on this bloodlust, this dream of worldwide domination, fueled by the arrogance of Arab superiority. It drives everything they say and do, and it is madness.

"The Saudis write poems celebrating the suicide-murderers.

They also flew/hijacked all four jets in the 911 Atrocities.

I can give you ONE reason why there will not be a "war" in the Middle East.

1. Why formally pronounce an act of war against Israel when Iraq, Egypt, Palenstine and the others can come out publicly and support the "war on terrorism" by using the media, while secretly supporting and training suicide bombers who are carrying out their real agenda. This way, there is what is called "plausible deniability" by these leaders. They don't need a formal war, because the informal one that they have raging suits their purposes.
