Bakersfield - The parents of a six-year-old Bakersfield girl who was asked to drag a dead body away from her own home were sentenced to four years in prison. Thursday morning, the judge handed down the sentence to 42-year-old Mark and 35-year-old Maria Atkerson.
The couple had pleaded no contest to charges of felony child endangerment.
Earlier this year, deputies say the father asked his daughter to help him remove the body of a man who had died of a drug overdose in the couple’s Oildale mobile home.
The girl has since been taken into protective custody.
This is the crazyist thing I ever herd of. A lil girl can't drag a body. She should be carrying the beer and shovels.
