'Unprecedented revenge' say Hamas

Agence France-Presse

THE armed wing of radical Islamic militant group Hamas vowed today an unprecedented revenge against Israel after six of its fighters were killed in an Israeli missile strike.

"It will be a new kind of punishment this time, of an unaccustomed type that will shake their entity and destroy its pillars," the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades said.

Six Hamas members were killed yesterday in an Israeli helicopter strike, including Qais Idwan, said to have masterminded the deaths of 26 people in a suicide attack last week now called the "Passover Massacre".

Idwan was a top chief in the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades.

Also killed in the missile strike was Said Abu Awad, the militant who conceived and helped the group build its home-made Katyusha-style Qassam-2 rockets.

Israel considers the use of the Qassam-2s, which have a range of about 6km, a serious escalation in armed operations against the country, and has warned if one of those rockets ever hit a populated area its retaliation would be radical.

"Our fighters received the martyrdom they wanted after having trained dozens of engineers in different (weapons) areas and gave them intensive military training to give Sharon and his stupid government a lesson that they will understand," the statement said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

The Brigades stressed the killings would not prevent it from carrying out new attacks and that the "idiot Sharon should have understood the lesson after the assassination of Abu Hannud".

The Israelis killed Hannud, another top Hamas military leader, in a helicopter strike on November in the West Bank, triggering a wave of deadly suicide attacks by the radical Islamic group.

Exactly how does one shake the pillars of a democracy?

Are they implying that they will use Nuclear/Biological/Chemical weapons? I've said it before and I'll predict it again. If WMD are used against Israel in this conflict, by Hamas or Hizbollah, then Syria and others are in for a surprise.

I believe that such organizations are becoming more bold as country after country lines up behind the PA - calling Israel the bad guy. Such threats give me pause if not some concern.

With Israeli's in Northern areas headed into bunkers for safety... it looks like tonight Hamas gets a taste of what "no sanctuary" is like. Since Israel has not been safe within her own borders, and it is these Syrian and Iranian backed idots who will find out what attacks bring... possibly even strikes against the very two countries directly backing these terrorists.

I just wonder if the US will participate directly in the aggression against Iran and Syria given the fact that Britian and the US are already on hold for smok'n Saddam!

They even try that and Palestine will be uninhabitable for the next 1,000 years.......and the entire world will applaud.

These terrorists are on shakey ground and they're too stupid to figure it out.

Very un-called for..

What happened? I thought killing those who fought back in the west bank was going to solve this thing?

Once again, I am telling all you who can't see what's going on: The real problem is Iran, all Sharon is doing is creating a temporary lull.

I think these jerks should see the movie, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Whatever pharoah threatened against the Hebrews, happened against the Egyptians, only worse.

These terrorists are only sentencing their own people to death and devastation.

Where is their God in all this?

Where is the great Allah? Could it be that he is only a golden calf?

Mushroom cloud alert in Damascus and Baghdad and Teheran. Sheeesh....are these guys stupid!!!!

The daily doses of rhetoric and bluster from these despotic wannabes reminds one of Hitler in Munich. It seems he who out-rhetorics the rest rises in their ranks. Their minions feed off of it to such an extent that they become as hyperemotional and orgiastic as chimpanzees pleasuring themselves in public.

Sound like a line out of Phantom of the Opera where the deranged madman says (paraphrasing) "You will curse the day you did not do all that the Phantom asked of you!"

I'd be interested in your take on this and more specifically to what extent they perhaps pose the greatest danger to Turkey.

Unprecedented revenge equals unprecedented destruction. A few lousy houses being bull-dozed down takes an hour. If you want to take this to another level in warfare, then the Israeli government will likely select one entire town and bulldoze it in six hours. Go find a tent to live in for the next five years, and see how your wife likes that. The Jordanian government had lots of problems with Arafat in early 70s and finally just lowered the boom on them. There is an accepted level of talk, and after that, you need to watch your step. The Israeli government can take extreme steps if called upon to do so. Any idiot wanting to test the waters....better think of the consequences.

Iran is a theocratic state which seeks out opportunities to export it's ideology. Sunni losses to Jews (as pesants would see it) present an opportunity for Shiite Iran. It is no secret that Iran supports terrorists, religiously and territorially motivated, that aim to destabilize Turkey. There is your problem, and Russia is selling it nuclear technology.

My take is that it is stupid for Sharon to act unilaterally as a fly on a horses ass. As Bush put it a while back: "It just is not helpful.."
