Veteran of the Manned Space Program and grew up right next door to the Johnson Space Center. Second generation NASA, father was the longest serving member of the Mission Control Center team (he sat in the front towards the right side... could have been seen on feeds from MCC throughout the shuttle era... was also in a number of movies and documentaries).

I was part of the onboard software group. We maintained the software for the Space Shuttle and the post processing of sensor data. I went on to private industry (airline... which fits.. right?) but tried to get back into the program but via SpaceX (but did not get the job dammit)
