On January 8, 2021, the same day Milley reportedly spoke to China in a secret phone call, CNN ran a story claiming Pelosi had gotten assurances from Milley there are safeguards in place in the event President Trump wants to launch a nuclear weapon. Milley released a statement through a spokesman that confirmed the reporting in the book Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa that stated Milley had two conversations with his counterpart in the Chinese military that UNDERMINED President Trump.

Impeaching DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for failing to secure the southern border does not appear to have the support of the some Republican senators. As border patrol has encountered more than 2.3 million illegal aliens at the border, with over 230,000 migrant encounters in October, establishment Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) appear averse to holding Mayorkas accountable for the southern border invasion. “Someone has to commit a high crime or misdemeanor for that to be a valid inquiry,” Romney told Politico about impeachment standards. “I haven’t seen any accusation of that nature whatsoever.”

May 5, 16-year-old Jchandra Brown hanged herself at a campground in Payson, Utah. Her friend Tyerell Przybycien is accused of helping her by buying the rope and tying the noose she put around her neck, and the compressed air she used to knock herself out before dying. Przybycien encouraged Brown to go through with the suicide, even providing running commentary as he recorded her last moments on video, according to court documents. Now, Przybycien, 18, is being charged with first-degree murder in her death. If convicted, he would face a minimum of 15 years in prison. Prosecutors say Brown wouldn’t...

Long time CTH readers will note we extended well over a year of benefit-of-the-doubt to the motives of former FBI Director James Comey with regard to the severity of his politicized nature and disposition. Throughout the entire Clinton investigation we remained ambivalent to Comey’s motives. Indeed it wasn’t until after the Pulse nightclub terrorist attack when Comey obtusely noted the FBI had been contacted (prior to the attack) about the sketchy behavior of Omar Mateen by a ‘random concerned citizen’ -and our finding that the actual ‘citizen’ was the far more substantive St Lucie county sheriff Ken Mascara– that we...

Two pals of the accused Boston Marathon bombers were pulled from their New Bedford, Mass. home and taken into custody on Saturday. The two men, known to neighbors by their first names Azmat and Diaz — who share a black BMW SUV adorned with a novelty license plate that reads “Terrorista #1” — were cuffed and hauled out of their Carriage Dr. apartment shortly before 4 p.m.

Thirty-six hours after ex-president Bill Clinton bashed and trashed his son on everything from his handling of the Hurricane Katrina crisis to the Iraq war, former president George H.W. Bush says he still likes Clinton. Appearing during commercial breaks on ABC's "Monday Night Football," the president's father was asked how he and Clinton managed to get along. "I like him," Bush 41 said, despite the verbal thrashing Clinton administered to his son on ABC's "This Week" the day before. Given two more opportunities to comment on his relationship with Clinton, Bush Sr. declined to say a single negative word about...

March 27, 2005WORD FOR WORD | REPORT CARDChina Gives America a D By PETER EDIDIN INCE 1977, the United States State Department has issued an annual global report card called the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. The document has long been a thorn in the side of authoritarian governments, including China's, which responds with a nettled review of its own, called "The Human Rights Record of the United States," the 2004 version of which was recently released. (It is available in English at:http://english.people.com.cn/200503/03/eng20050303_175406.html.) China's assessment, unlike the sober State Department tome, is a frank indictment and draws a...

On the second anniversary of 9/11, Jean Chretien was on vacation in Quebec. Neither he nor the Liberal party organized any official ceremony. Instead, Stephen Harper, the opposition leader, organized a ceremony. Though he made a quickie phone call to Pres. Bush, Jean Chretien didn't bother to show up. Two days later, a woman writing a puff piece in the Ottawa Citizen made the comment that "seeing Canadians flying American flags in a misplaced show of solidarity" sends her into a "huff." That was it. I went to my computer and wrote a letter to the editor. Here's the text:...
