<description>&#x26;#x3C;p&#x26;#x3E;05:06 PDT RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) --&#x26;#xA0; Students attending North Carolina&#x26;#x27;s most violent schools will be allowed to transfer to safer schools under new state and federal policies.&#x26;#x3C;/p&#x26;#x3E;

&#x26;#x3C;p&#x26;#x3E;Starting in 2004, schools with five or more violent crimes per 1,000 students for two straight years could be designated &#x26;#x22;persistently dangerous&#x26;#x22; under a policy adopted this month by the State Board of Education.&#x26;#x3C;/p&#x26;#x3E;
