STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man accused of leaving his girlfriend to die after his car ended up in a Stamford pond has been sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison. Francisco Loaiza, 30, of Stratford, had previously pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle. Before his sentencing Monday, Loaiza apologized for causing the accident.
