U.S. Rep. Steven Buyer, R-Ind., said he supports the presidential candidacy of former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson, who hasn't formally announced he will seek the office. Thompson served as a senator from Tennessee. He served as minority Republican counsel on the U.S. Senate Watergate Committee in 1973 as a 30-year-old attorney.
