The rock and roll star rose to fame with hits such as Be My Baby, Baby I Love You and Walking in the Rain. A statement from her family said she passed at age 78 "after a brief battle with cancer". "Ronnie lived her life with a twinkle in her eye, a spunky attitude, a wicked sense of humour and a smile on her face," the statement said.

Nicknamed the Unicorn Killer because his last name means "one horn" in German, Ira Einhorn jumped bail and evaded arrest for 23 years, but eventually the "she went to the neighborhood co-op to buy some tofu and sprouts and never returned" story fell apart. Ira Einhorn was on stage hosting the first Earth Day event at the Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on April 22, 1970. Seven years later, police raided his closet and found the "composted" body of his ex-girlfriend inside a trunk... After 23 years, he was finally extradited to the United States from France and put on trial....

More and more Americans are opting out of Earth Day in favor of a holiday that offers a chance to fight back against Marxism and political correctness. The holiday, which is called “Holly Maddux Day,” is named after the young woman murdered by Ira Einhorn, a 1960s antiwar activist. Einhorn, who was a friend of Jerry Rubin and Abby Hoffman, is regarded by many as the founder of Earth Day. Einhorn emceed the first Earth Day celebration in Philadelphia in April 1970, at which Sen. Edmund Muskie gave the highlight address. Einhorn, an advocate of free love and drug use,...

According to today's video interview between CNN's John King and Arlen Spector at the link below, Rick Santorum lied about Arlen Spector's promise to support George Bush's Supreme Court nominees in exchange for Santorum's endorsement, during the nationally televised debate on CNN Wednesday. This is damaging video evidence of Santorum's lie about this important reason given by Santorum for supporting the liberal Arlen Spector over the conservative Patrick Tomey is at the following link. http://www.breitbart.tv/specter-santorum-lied/ During the debate, Romney claimed that if Tomey was elected as the GOP Senator from Pennsylvania instead of Spector, Obamacare would not have passed by...

Former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter has been outside the Beltway for more than a year, but the longtime politician is still in the loop. “The gridlock in Washington is really more like a war,” said Specter during a speech Wednesday at an annual fundraiser at the Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham. Politics was just the tip of the iceberg. The 81-year-old and longest serving senator from Pennsylvania offered the crowd of 150 guests a state-of-the-nation type speech, addressing everything from the economy and Occupy Wall Street movement to the 2012 presidential election and Israel. Specter spent most of...

Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) said Thursday that his brother has spoken with White House officials about the congressman's allegation that he was offered an Obama administration job if he would stay out of a Democratic Senate primary. Sestak ran in, and won, that primary, defeating the White House's preferred candidate, Sen. Arlen Specter. He told reporters Thursday that he would not expand upon his prior statements until the White House releases its report on the matter. President Obama said in his news conference that such a report would come "shortly." Richard Sestak, the congressman's brother, who has served as his...

Maybe with the Pennsylvania primaries on Tuesday (Since we can probably surmise that Toomey will win on the Republican side): All those who voted for Hillary in 2008, and even some NEW voters ought to switch to the Democratic Primary to "have some fun". We (I) beleive that Spector will be the weakest candidate in the GENERAL elections vs. our own Mr. Toomey! (Spector is'n't probably as palatable to the Democratic base as a "pure Democrat" Sestak is)..and he's definately an unpopular incumbent! WHY don't Freepers (and other conservatives) take it upon ourselves to VOTE for Spector in the Primary...

Music legend Phil Spector, in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, has been writing letters about his life behind bars — saying in a letter released Wednesday that he fears for his safety and would like to be moved to "a better prison." Spector wrote to his friend Steve Escobar, a musician and music journalist, of his chagrin at being in the same prison as notorious murderers including Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan. He said he is working with his attorneys "to get a better prison with people more like myself in it during the appeal process instead...

Music legend-cum-murderer Phil Spector is whining about being locked up in a "snake pit" of a prison with such other high-profile killer nutjobs as Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan -- but California corrections officials say Spector is full of beans. "Imagine sending me to the same prison -- shows how low they can go," fumes Spector in a letter to a buddy, Bay Area music manager Steve Escobar. "They'd kill you in here for a 39-cent bag of soup!" SNIP Spector wrote Escobar that Phil's 29-year-old wife, ex-Playboy model Rachelle Short, has begun making an 800-mile round trip drive to...

On Thursday we reported on an overture allegedly made by Charles Manson to recently-incarcerated music producer Phil Spector. Blogs and newspapers were lighting up with the story, including the New York Post's Page Six, which spoke to Spector's wife and publicist. Apparently, the bearded man pictured above wanted to work with the man known for the Wall of Sound. But it turns out, it isn't true. Contact of any kind between the two inmates never occured, says Terry Thornton, spokeswoman in the Office of Public and Employee Communications at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. In fact, they aren't...

These sets of videos are making the rounds and they should be a warning to all Democratic politicians. Forget the polls. What is clear is that the passion and energy is on the side of the of those opposed to the health care plan that is filtering through Congress. For weeks, everyone predicted all sorts of excitement once the politicians got back to their districts and met with the constituency. We just got a peek at this with these sets of video. This is not pretty.

Sibelius, Obama's Secretary of Health got an earful too!Benedict Arlen Specter (DEMOCRAT-PA) got an earful when he held a Town Hall meeting on health care at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia over the weekend. Andrew Monaghan who blogs at Panzramic, showed up to document the ACORN/union thugs who were bused in along with exploited handicapped people to help make the case for Obama care. Andrew also found a very raucous crowd of citizens who are mad as hell at the socialist circus in Washington and are not going to take it any more. So many voters angry at Obama's...

Bioethics: The former director of the National Institutes of Health, once an enthusiast for embryonic stem cells, now says their future has "dimmed." So why is the administration bailing out research into such therapies while troubled states like California have committed billions?Aside from creating or saving a few research jobs, the administration's decision to federally fund embryonic stem cell research is, as we've noted, a bailout of bad science. It throws money at an avenue of research that time and adult stem cell progress have passed by. Applauding the administration's move was Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., who echoed the claims...

A congressman from the Philadelphia suburbs will challenge U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter in the Democratic Senate primary. In an interview with The Wayne Independent Wednesday morning, U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa.,confirmed his intention to run against Specter, a long-time Republican who switched to the Democratic party earlier this year. “I am going to get into the race against Arlen Specter ... for senator,” said Sestak in his first media interview as part of a three-week tour through all of the Commonwealth’s 67 counties. Wayne County was his first stop where he met with local Democrats prior to his interview with...
