The leader of a Yemeni al-Qaeda cell has been killed in clashes with security forces, Yemen's state news agency has said. The agency said the home of the militant, identified by the governor of Yemen's Shabwa province as Abdullah al-Mehdarhad, was surrounded by security forces on Tuesday and that he was killed as a result of an exchange of fire. Yemen, the Arab world's poorest nation, came to the foreground of US-led efforts to battle Islamist militants after the Yemen-based wing of al Qaeda said it was behind a failed Dec. 25 plot to bomb a US-bound airliner.

MEXICO CITY - The Cuban government has provided no details on Fidel Castro's health and released no pictures of the leader since it announced Monday night that he was having surgery and handing power to his brother. Cubans were told in a statement attributed to Castro that most details of his health would be kept "a state secret" to prevent the island's enemies from taking advantage of his condition. Most Cubans have insisted that they are sure Castro will recover and that the government will function fine until then. But others have privately expressed worries that their leader may be...

Yet another major figure has exited Air America Radio. COO Carl Ginsburg, one of the left-leaning talk network’s early architects, has resigned. No replacement has been named. As previously reported, president Gary Krantz, who joined the company in April 2005, exited in June of this year. Meanwhile, former CEO Danny Goldberg, who remains with the network through the end of 2006 as vice chairman, is returning to his music business roots and has started a new venture.

Cuba's communist government provided no new information on Fidel Castro's condition Thursday but sought to reassure Cubans that nothing would change. "The revolution will continue" was the mantra chanted on state-run television and displayed in government newspapers three days after Fidel Castro temporarily ceded power to his younger brother Raul while recovering from surgery.

Cuba's Communist Party tried to quell fears of chaos on Thursday following the temporary surrender of power by the ailing Fidel Castro but failed to clear up doubts over who is in charge of the island. In a typically cryptic message, the main Communist Party newspaper Granma printed an old speech by Raul Castro, who took over island leadership on Monday, saying that his brother's only heir was the Communist Party itself. While the front page publication of the speech was obviously designed to quell fears that Fidel's possible exit after 47 years of rule would unleash chaos, it could...

There are people in Iraq, all over the Arab world, and on the DemocRAT side of the aisle who do not want to believe that Qusay and Uday (or is it Qusai and Udai?)are really dead. Besides pictures, I believe we need to take action to prove it so that no one anywhere can spin it otherwise. I would suggest a team of doctors from several countries who would examine bodies, dental records, xrays, and DNA. Let them make a report of their findings. That is probably the only way to finalized this thing and end all the speculation.

KRLA 870 in Glendale, CA is giving away Disneyland tickets this week. The callers get 15 seconds to be creative and speak about a current issue. I almost won yesterday with a limerick, but today was the lucky day. The prize was four passes for four trips to Disneyland or California Adventure (which sucks big time). The murdering Uday and Quasay Liked torture and women and booze-ay But they ran out of luck When they didn't hear "duck!" They're taking their forever snooze-ay
