  • Juneteenth marchers met by counter-protesters motorcyclists in Rifle

    06/24/2020 5:00:20 PM PDT · by BansheeBill · 62 replies
On Friday evening, peaceful Black Lives Matter chants were shadowed by the deafening roar of motorcycle engines as counter-protestors — including some who were open-carrying firearms — followed the marchers on their route down Railroad Avenue to the Rifle Police Department. The march was organized on Juneteenth, the oldest celebration in the U.S. commemorating the end of slavery. It was the second time this month that several hundred protesters gathered in Rifle at City Hall. But unlike the June 2 vigil, Friday’s event was met by a significant counter-protest. As BLM supporters gathered in the plaza near city hall, several...

Leupold is a 113-year-old, family-owned business manufacturing rifle scopes, firearm sights, and other optics in Beaverton, Oregon. With more than 650 employees and a factory that runs seven days a week, they manufacture the types of products that have to work every time, under pressure.“That moment of truth when is when you’re behind that sight and pulling the trigger, and we want to make sure...

RIFLE,Colo.(KKCO)-- Earlier this week Shooters Grill in Rifle reopened for dine-in service, which is against the state’s safer-at-home order. Unlike Mesa County, the Governor has not approved Garfield County for dine-in eating, which means they are only supposed to provide curbside pick-up and delivery. Owner Lauren Boebert, who is also a candidate for the Third Congressional District in Colorado, told us the rule is unconstitutional. She opened up last weekend for dine-in service at 30% capacity. Boebert was initially served with a cease and desist order Tuesday afternoon by law enforcement officials.

Shooters began opening its dining room at 30% capacity on Saturday and has served hundreds of customers so far. Owner Lauren Boebert decided to go against guidance from the City of Rifle, the Garfield County Public Health Department and County Commissioners by opening up the dining room. Pa never had much compassion for the lazy or those who squandered their means and then never had enough for the necessities. But for those who were genuinely in need, his heart was as big as all outdoors. It was from him that I learned the greatest joy in life comes from giving, not from receiving. It was Christmas Eve 1881. I was fifteen years old and feeling like the world had caved in on me because there just hadn't been enough money to buy me the rifle that I'd wanted so bad that year for Christmas. We did the...

3D printed Bolt Action .223 Rifle, successfully Test Fired U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The .223 Remington cartridge is a high-intensity rifle and pistol cartridge. The SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, Inc) allowable pressure level for the .223 is 55,000 psi. In most “3D printed” AR-15 type rifles, only the lower receivers are 3D printed for the platforms they are on. The lower receiver holds together the fire control system. There is little mechanical strength needed. Upper receivers have not generally been printed because they are easily available in the United States. They are considered a firearm part, like a buttstock,...

Choke on a Rifle and a Usable Garden Gun – .22 Shot Shells #12 Shot U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The .22 shotshell, made by CCI holds 1/15th of an ounce of #12 shot. Based on minimal testing 40 years ago, I considered it near worthless. In the last few years my brother and a friend reported experiences that caused me to reconsider the round. Varmints up to the size of red squirrels were killed more than 20 feet away. A dedicated smoothbore gun was reported to be useful up to 30 feet. Some Internet reports claimed effective results to 15 yards, or...

  • Many in Media continue to Misidentify Pistol Used in Dayton Mass Murder

When the mass murder in Dayton Ohio was conducted by a leftist drug addict, most in the media jumped to the conclusion that he used a rifle. It was not hard to do for those ignorant of firearms and the arcane classifications created by the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 and its follow on legislation. The logical contradictions of the NFA have become more and more obvious, partly through legal holdings of the BATFE, and partly from Court decision. It takes a serious understanding of the law to know what is a pistol and what is a rifle....

In light of all the noise regarding gun control and "assault rifles" being now targeted for confiscation, I think we at FR need to stand up and declare a "National Buy an AR Lower Day". All it takes is $80 to make a statement. So what would be a good date?

On 17 June, 2019, in Limestone County, Alabama, the police had been pursuing a stolen vehicle. The driver crashed the vehicle and fled. Four hours later, a 15 year old girl spotted the suspect and immediately told her 75-year-old grandmother. Marcia Black got her Ruger 10-22 rifle and confronted the suspect, Cameron Powers, in her driveway. Then she held him for police. From waaytv.com: About four hours after deputies say Cameron Powers crashed a stolen car during a high-speed chase on E & L Lane, he showed up in Black's grandmother’s driveway.“He didn’t have a shirt on and didn’t have...

The Most Anti-Conservative Company in America is Making a Big Move Is the country run by the voters or by Marc Benioff? June 21, 2019 Daniel Greenfield 80 "You better consider the economic consequences of your social and political advocacy," Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff warned conservative states. It was 2016 and the smirking bearded billionaire was fresh off his war against conservative states, most notably Indiana, which had dared to pass laws protecting religious freedom against his wishes. The portly billionaire with a scraggly beard and a social justice brand that covers his ruthlessness in his business dealings responded...

On Friday morning, at 2:50 a.m. on the 7th of June, 2019, a home invasion by a young man did not turn out as expected.  The owner heard him banging on the door and breaking the window glass. After the invader gained entry to the home and was advancing upstairs, the homeowner shot “in the general direction” of the invader, Jayven Jackson, 18 years of age. The homeowner used a rifle and fired multiple shots, hitting Jackson in the legs and/or feet.  The police spokesperson said he was shot twice, as I understood his answer in the press conference. ...

Just recently a couple of videos have been shared on the web that feature a remotely piloted vehicle equipped with an assault rifle. The prototype was made by the Russian gunmaker “Almaz-Antey” who had undertaken itself back in 2018 to develop a “flying Kalashnikov rifle”.The drone has a central fuselage with a built-in rifle compartment and a flat wing design, it is also provided with a smoothbore rifle “Vepr 12 Molot” with a magazine for ten shells.According to the producer, the vehicle can shoot at a target automatically while flying at the required course. If the target is not destroyed from...

Wanted one for as long as I can remember, now I am ready to buy.Only two criteriaFirst, looking for one in original military configuration. (Prefer the 1903 to the 03A3, but that's not a must). The few I have found in gun shops or shows around my semi rural area have all been modded with new stocks, scopes, etc.Second, must be a safe shooter. I've seen dozens for sale at on line gun dealers which all say "sold as collectors item only" and I'm not thrilled about buying that sight unseen.Any suggestions? I'd be willing to drive anywhere in the...

I don’t typically like writing about firearms on this blog, as there’s a lot of other outlets that do that, and I think that guns get WAY too much focus in the Survivalism and Preparedness community. They’re important and fun, but other stuff, like growing food and having a good store of tools, is just as important. That being said, like with all things, a baseline must first be recognized and then built upon, never detracted from- in order to maximize our capabilities. Hanging out on the sidelines of a public range can be a hobby all to its own;...

On September 24, 2018, Yunsong Zhao was vindicated. He had done nothing illegal. The evidence against him was so weak, the judge did not let the case go to trial. He dismissed the case based on lack of evidence. From wsls.com: CHRISTIANSBURG — A judge on Monday dismissed the firearms charge against former Virginia Tech student Yunsong Zhao, saying that he didn’t believe the police officer or gun dealer who were the prosecution’s main witnesses. The evidence that Zhao, a 20-year-old Chinese national, possessed an assault weapon that is allowed only for U.S. citizens or permanent residents was too flimsy...

A Ninth District judge indicated disappointment that a Rifle woman accused of yelling at two Spanish-speaking women in a racially charged rant at a Rifle grocery story will not have to enter a plea. Garfield County Judge Jonathan Potosky said at a hearing in the case Wednesday he would have liked to see Linda Dwire, who was charged with misdemeanor racial-motivated harassment enter a guilty plea of some kind of condition of having her case diverted. The charge results from an incident at the Rifle City Market in October — part of which was caught on video by a bystander...
