It was relatively warm yesterday so I took the opportunity to prune the Quickfire and Little Limelight hydrangeas scattered around the front of the house. They were all still wearing their tan winter mopheads from last season that needed to be snipped in anticipation of a new season’s growth.Against the backdrop of muffled kids’ voices playing basketball down the street the quietude allowed me to reflect on how perfect these hydrangea varieties are. As a fan of women’s college basketball in general and in a special way, of the University of Connecticut or UConn’s women’s basketball team, I am awaiting the start of the women’s final four in San Antonio, TX. What is witnessed here is not only the hope of a repeat to a national championship, but also with history on the line as well as a team to have two years, back to back, of NCAA national championships and two years of perfect seasons.
