*Everybody* *Always* has a young voter problem.

Namely, that they’re fickle and think everything is so unfair.

It was long ago, but I was young once, too... and “young voters” tend to believe Mommy/Daddy Government should fix it for them.

The thing I tell my kids? And hey - guess what, I came of age in the 70s/80s when inflation was FAR worse than now, but:

1) YOU need to be responsible for YOU.

2) Any path that involves a GOVERNMENT solution is NOT you being responsible for you.

Sucks for elections, but “young voters” always think some cabal is screwing them. I was no different long ago.

We *ARE* saddling them with unsustainable government debt, but that doesn’t excuse YOU from planning for YOU.

I’m in (was as I am caring for my elderly mother now) in Sandpoint. It may still go republicans but the Californicators have invaded. CDL has changed. And the new demographic are gay area Californicators. Houses that were 50 k NPT long ago are 500k now. Same in CDL And you can not deny that Biden dumped uncountable turds from the world over in the dark of night. I witnessed it at the Amtrack terminal.

Young womyn aren’t voting for dems either. They’re voting for commies. Young men vote for Republicans.

I’m trying to help a family member get his finances under control and the big, blaring red light is a (very nice, I’ll admit) pickup that he’s ridiculously underwater on because he got suckered in a ridiculous *7!!!!* year loan at 14%.

I’m *trying* to help, and the milk is spilled.... but I just want to smack him and “My lord, this is... What? Why? Did you not even LOOK at the life of loan cost?”

I’m trying to do the math on his budget to just to get him to a place where he can sell the damn truck without taking a real soaking and coming up empty.

I think NRO is paid by Democrats to depress the GOP vote and promote democrat candidates. They were so sure Trump couldn’t win last November. Of course, they also worked hard to try to stop him. Thankfully NRO has little influence on conservatives these days.

There are so many issues today that were not foreseen and understood by Kirk and Buckley.

The browning of America with the related collapse of the cities as well as illegal immigration are just one constellation of examples.

They also lived in a time where Communism was easily understood and everyone was clear on what needed to be done.

Now we have major Muslim powers and a Chinese nationalism that are more complex—and are not likely to collapse like the old Soviet Union.

Western Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are nominally our allies but act like enemies in a long list of ways.

The left has completed a successful march through the institutions and perverts and crazy leftists are now in charge of most large organizations.

Then—just today the “conservative” Supreme Court “conserved” the leftist victory of gay marriage.

I could go on and on...but the landscape is very different these days.

Our enemies are coming at us from all sides—and they are in our face. If we don’t fight them off none of the other issues raised by Kirk and Buckley are not even on the table for discussion.

It is like worrying about meeting building codes while your house is on fire.

If there are not posts from biased legacy media sources, we get these black pilled, Chicken Little posts. Nothing is inevitable or predestined, except in the mind of God. We are not God and thus do not know what the future holds. A balanced approach is somewhere between Q-type posts saying “trust the plan, sit back and relax” and the Martin Armstrong/Michael Snyder types who have correctly predicted 11 of the last two recessions (and buy their newsletter, gold, and survival gear).

But you gotta look at the tables!

The “5 year rule” goes out the window - it becomes a “10 year rule” (at best).

A 50 yr mortgage is going to lock you into a situation where your equity simply isn’t going to allow you the standard, prior progression.

It’s going to be a trap.

My doc quit. Premiums have skyrocketed. And now there are only one or two insurance companies even serve the state. And even if you have the crap insurance it is months before you can even see a doctor. Just put the money in the bank and pay cash. Then again... the local hospital cartel has bought up every independent clinic in the state.

I am usually 100% against renting, but if the only option is 50 year mortgage or rent, go with rent!
