U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents had to use tear gas and pepper spray early Saturday to stop nearly 50 “undocumented individuals” from illegally entering the U.S. after they stormed a port of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas, officials said. The incident at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge took place at around 4 a.m. The bridge is closed between midnight at 6 a.m., but CBP has had to construct temporary barriers in the middle of the span due to the large influx of migrants using the bridge at night. The Pharr International Bridge was temporarily closed Friday morning after a group of undocumented immigrants attempted to rush the bridge to enter the United States, according to a release from Customs and Border Protection. “At about 4 a.m. today[Friday], a group of 47 undocumented individuals attempted to illegally enter the United States in three waves via the Pharr International Bridge. MCALLEN, Texas – Border Patrol agents arrested a Middle-Eastern man as he tried to sneak into Texas by illegally crossing the border. The man’s country of origin was not readily available. PHARR - Investigators say a random home burglary today went awry leaving one suspect shot, another in custody and a third one on the lam. Officials said three men broke into a home on the 700 block of West Bronze Avenue just after 11 a.m. The homeowner confronted the intruders and shot one in face with a shotgun. Pharr police arrested Mexican national Jose Wilmer Naranjo Aguilar, 25, about 2 a.m. Friday at Value Place, 1207 W. Expressway 83, after a report of shots fired at the motel. PHARR — Federal authorities arrested a 21-year-old Pharr man who allegedly tried to smuggle a machine gun into Mexico. A Pharr police officer stopped Julio Cesar Ramirez's in a white 2006 Hummer H3 as he attempted enter the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge, according to a criminal complaint. The family of a Pharr man is in mourning after their loved one was killed south of the border in Reynosa. The El Universal newspaper is reporting that 35-year-old Ricardo Hugarin Garcia was killed over the weekend. El Universal reported that Garcia went missing on Thursday, December 30th.
