...The officers were made deputies in advance of expected demonstrations at a rally by far-right group Proud Boys which took place in Portland on Saturday. Anticipating violence, Oregon Governor Kate Brown issued an executive order allowing local and county law enforcement to handle the event. While some protests did occur, the rally lasted roughly 90 minutes before ending. Mayor Wheeler's office said in a Tuesday statement that it had asked the office of the U.S. Attorney to remove the deputation. On Wednesday, District of Oregon Billy J. Williams and U.S. Marshal for the District of Oregon Russ Burger denied Wheeler's...

In cities like Baltimore, MD, it’s not easy for a black Republican to run for office. It may sound like a cliche, but stories like this show that in these cities, the opposition will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo. This reality became even more evident during a Zoom debate between candidates seeking to become the next mayor of the city. Pastor Shannon Wright is a black Republican candidate who is attempting to end the streak of Democratic domination of the office of mayor. But, as a conservative running in a heavily blue city, she has run into...

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) warned “far-right groups” to stay away from the city, stating that “intending to intimidate, create fear, commit violence, or spread hate is not welcome here” — However, he has routinely failed to apply the same standard to Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters who have continually inflicted carnage on the city for well over 100 days. “On Saturday, Sept. 26, a group of far-right extremists and white nationalist groups will be coming to our city,” Wheeler said in a Thursday op-ed after touting Portland as a sanctuary city and beacon of racial justice.

The son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani may be following in his father's footsteps, telling the New York Post that he may run for mayor in 2021. The elder Giuliani has been highly critical of current Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Andrew is no different. In discussing his potential political plans, he warned that if the next mayor is like the present one, the city could descend to lows not seen in decades. "I am certainly thinking about it. It’s something that a bunch of people that I trust have approached me with,” Andrew Giuliani, 34, told...

Seattle’s City Council voted 7-2 Tuesday evening to override Mayor Jenny Durkan's veto of a bill that would cut police funding by around $3 million. "We cannot look away from this and we can no longer accept the status quo if we truly believe that Black lives matter," Council President Lorena Gonzalez said, according to MyNorthwest.com. The bill would also remove as many as 100 officers from various police units and limit staff pay to $150,000, The Seattle Times reported.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed attempted to redirect fire at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi toward the president after security footage showed Pelosi getting her hair done with no mask inside a salon. The video showed Pelosi inside the hair salon, which is currently not permitted in California. Salons have been closed since March, with state restrictions only allowing outdoor appointments beginning in September. Pelosi claims that she was "set up" by the salon owner and blamed the owner for giving false information about state restrictions. The Democrat mayor backed up Pelosi and dismissed the notion that the Speaker was violating...

The United States Conference of Mayors, a bipartisan organization that comprises elected officials from at least 1,400 cities across the country, formally condemned President Donald Trump's threat to cut local governments' federal funding on Thursday. The coalition's criticism comes on the heels of Trump's memo, issued one day prior, suggesting areas where protests continue to take place could see fewer federal dollars allocated to state and city programs. Tom Cochran, an Obama administration appointee and the Conference of Mayors' CEO and executive director, described the threat as an unlawful "attack" on residents of those areas in a statement. "President Trump...

Portland’s next mayor could be an open supporter of Antifa, the violent, far-left movement whose members have unleashed violence in cities across America. Left-wing activist Sarah Iannarone will face incumbent Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler in a runoff election on Nov. 3 after neither candidate received a majority of votes in the first round of voting. Wheeler beat Iannarone in the first round of voting, but has faced criticism from both sides of the political spectrum over his handling of the city’s nightly unrest, which has included nearly 30 riots since late May. A supporter of President Donald Trump was shot...

We’ve already learned that a Black Lives Matter sign won’t help you. You could put a Black Lives Matter sign or even a “black-owned business” sign in the window of your business with hopes that looters and arsonists will pass it over, but chances are it won’t help. San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo learned that lesson a few nights ago when a Black Lives Matter march ended up at his home and the mob started vandalizing it, despite his Black Lives Matter sign in his front window.

A series of protests outside of the home of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson has forced her and her husband to temporarily relocate to a nearby apartment, which they are paying for out of their own pockets, a report says. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says Krewson, in a text message Wednesday, wrote “we have not lived at home for 2 months” following demonstrations that took place there in June, July and early August. “We did it to deescalate the situation, to save police resources, and importantly because our neighbors were being disturbed and threatened,” Krewson told the newspaper.

The push to recall Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan is based on a policy disagreement, not a violation of any law or standard, and the petitioners leading the recall haven’t identified what steps Durkan should have taken in the wake of June’s widespread protests, Durkan argued in appealing her case to the state Supreme Court. Durkan’s argument, filed Monday, reprises some of the arguments she made in King County Superior Court, where a judge ruled that the recall effort could move forward, but also adds some new ones. “Following the most widespread civil unrest Seattle has seen in decades, Petitioners submitted,...

In a letter that is belatedly making the rounds on social media today, Portland businessman Greg Goodman, co-President of the city’s Downtown Development Group, sent a letter last week to communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler and the communists who dominate the city council. In the letter, Goodman details the decisions by many businesses to abandon the city, and slams the corrupt politicians for their support of the 97 nights of rioting in the city, for their failure to ensure basic safety, cleanliness and public order, and urges them to take responsibility and to “show some pride” in their city. Here...

About 200 people on Monday night marched to the Pearl District condominium tower where Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler lives to demand his resignation. The demonstration quickly turned destructive as some in the crowd lit a fire in the street, then placed a picnic table from a nearby business above the fire to feed the blaze. People shattered windows and broke into a ground-floor dental office took items including a chair, also added to the fire, and office supplies. Shortly after 11 p.m., a bundle of newspapers was set ablaze and thrown into a ground-floor storefront in the residential building. Around...

After he admits Oregon’s Democrat governor Kate Brown refused to call in the national guard, Portland’s Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler says, ‘I’m not sure how you specifically, operationally can prevent this. It’s you who have created the hate and the division, President Trump. You want me to stop the violence that you helped create.”

After listening to SCUMBAG Wheeler attempting to shock Americans into thinking that Trump is responsible for all the hate, decisiveness, riots, violence & vandalism in his city of Portland for the last 3 months, I decided SCUMBAG Wheeler is not fit for public office in the United States of America and must be removed...So, even though I live in Colorado, I am going to establish a petition, under Oregon law, to remove SCUMBAG Wheeler from the office of Portland's Mayor. When it is ready for signatures, I will let everyone know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stayfree

This guy is completely full of it, through and through. He's claiming it's white segregationists that are going to his home, and Trump supporters. Same for the other protesters. He is really a loser. I sure hope the citizens of Portland see through this empty suit.

Ted Wheeler is the feckless incompetent mayor of Portland Oregon. Portland has seen violent protests for about 100 nights in a row now. Donald Trump offered to send in Federal support to stem the violence but Wheeler refused the assistance. Wheeler, as noted here, is content to allow the rioting to "burn itself out" regardless of how much damage his constituents have to suffer. His strategy of appeasement has born fruit. The crocodile has come for Wheeler. Were those "protesters" to do as they did to the Federal building with police inside- seal it with concrete and set it...
