Is America's left-wing media elite about to suffer the fate of the Communist Party of the old Soviet Union? I ask this question because my weekend reading (Dimitri Volkogonov's history of the Soviet leadership, "Anatomy of An Empire," and Mark Mathis' tome on the U.S. media, "Feeding the Media Beast") raised some interesting parallels between the Soviet leadership and the current structure of the U.S. news media. She wants to bring area values to D.C. Barbara Dooley will run as a Republican for the new 12th District Congressional seat, she confirmed Saturday.
