Chicago police on Tuesday released surveillance video asking for the public's help in identifying a group of people who broke in and ransacked a store on the city's West Side back in May. Video showed dozens of people swarming the West Chicago Avenue business, which sold electronics among other items, around 1:45 p.m. on May 31. Many were captured taking whatever merchandise they could find over a roughly 25-minute period. At least one person violently kicked and shattered a protective covering under a counter that housed additional items. The aftermath of the looting spree saw the store looking like a...

In the early hours of Aug. 10, caravans from across the city ransacked high-end stores in and around downtown after rumors circulated on social media that Chicago police had shot and killed a 15-year-old Black boy on the South Side. Police did shoot 20-year-old Latrell Allen, who is Black, the day before. Police allege Allen fired gunshots at them, but officers were not equipped with body-worn cameras, and no other footage of the incident has been made available. Allen is expected to recover. Images of people walking in and out of department stores with their hands full of products transfixed...

Chicago police have arrested and charged a man wanted or robbing and attacking an 85-year-old woman in a parking garage near the Magnificent Mile. Tony Davis, 45, of Chicago, is now facing felony charges of aggravated battery of a victim over 60 and robbery stemming from the attack Tuesday morning. Police say he grabbed the woman’s purse, threw her to the ground and dragged her a few feet before running off. The woman suffered a head injury as a result. Davis was arrested Friday when he was stopped for violating CTA rules. SNIP

It makes sense that not a word was spoken at the Democratic National Convention about the riots, looting, and mayhem that have ravaged some of our major cities. To denounce Antifa and Black Lives Matter would have been to denounce the Democrats’ own base. And while many a Democratic mayor is embracing the idea of defunding the police, they’ve had no hesitation calling the police to protect themselves. Citing the need for her and her family to live in peace and security, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot had the police cordon off her block to prevent protesters from coming anywhere near...
  • Push by Aldermen to Ask Pritzker to Send National Guard Troops to Chicago Blocked by Lightfoot

A bid by several aldermen to demand that Gov. J.B. Pritzker deploy the Illinois National Guard to Chicago in an effort to reduce escalating violence and sustained protests amid the coronavirus pandemic failed on Friday at a special meeting of the Chicago City Council. Although Mayor Lori Lightfoot dismissed the effort by Alds. Leslie Hairston (5th Ward), Anthony Beale (9th Ward), Raymond Lopez (15th Ward) and Anthony Napolitano (41st Ward) earlier this week to force the special City Council meeting as a stunt and an example of “grandstanding,” 47 aldermen attended the virtual meeting, ensuring it took place. Veteran City...
  • “The Movement Has Been Hijacked’: Black Communities Increasingly Defending Police

    08/22/2020 7:26:39 PM PDT · by MarvinStinson · 14 replies
For months now there have been calls in all the major riots around the country to defund the police as a solution in the wake of the death of African-American George Floyd. Now large numbers of Black communities are coming out against that ‘stupid’ idea. . The assumption by many is that these demands were only coming from within black communities, where many of the BLM protests occur. The truth is that many community leaders and locals from these do not want this at all. Many locals feel the only thing keeping their communities safe during these times is the...

A group of Chicago City Council members requested that Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker immediately declare a state of emergency in Chicago and deploy the national guard in light of ongoing rioting and looting in the city. The City Council held a special meeting Friday to consider the resolution. The governor was asked to deploy the national guard for a period of 4 months to assist local law enforcement in quelling the unrest. The council members also asked for monthly public safety hearings and “reports regarding the collective and unified efforts to address the rioting, looting, destruction, and most importantly,...
  • Crime spikes as Soros-funded DAs take charge: 'They're not progressive, they're rogue'

Billionaire Democratic donor George Soros bankrolled the successful campaigns of a new crop of district attorneys who now preside over big cities with skyrocketing crime and frayed relationships with police departments. Soros-backed DAs in Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Francisco and other cities have fired scores of experienced prosecutors and, as promised, stopped prosecuting low-level quality-of-life crimes such as disorderly conduct, vagrancy and loitering. Their laissez-faire criminal justice philosophy bucks the get-tough “broken windows” approach, made famous by then-New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, which targets minor offenses to cut off the criminal element in the bud. Put into practice, New...

A man in Chicago allegedly called a 14-year-old a “racist” as he stole his bike, according to CWB Chicago. Isaac Lacy, 22, has been arrested after allegedly stealing a bike from a 14-year-old outside of a Logan Square cycle shop, Boulevard Bikes, on Tuesday. According to CWB Chicago, Lacy approached the 14-year-old and another minor and asked for a cigarette. He then allegedly stole the bike while daring the “‘racist’ juveniles to do anything about it, according to the story prosecutors presented during Lacy’s bond court appearance,” the outlet reported. “You’re a racist and you ain’t gonna do shit,” Lacy...
  • In bid to flex more political power, Chicago police union donates nearly $60K to State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s Republican challenger Pat O’Brien

Chicago police’s largest union donated $57,800 to Kim Foxx’s challenger in the Cook County state’s attorney’s race. In addition, the former judge looking to unseat the Democratic incumbent this November received $5,000 from the Chicago Police Sergeants Association Fund. “Kim Foxx doesn’t have the experience or judgment to run an office in regular times, and in times where there are events which obviously would test anyone, she certainly has failed that test,” O’Brien said. “There certainly is more of a feeling that I’m getting from business leaders and from individuals that they are sick and tired of favoring the criminal...

In the ongoing effort to get control of the city’s streets, Mayor Lori Lightfoot staged a news conference last Friday that was meant to make a statement. Standing on a platform in Olive Park, offset by a sapphire Lake Michigan on a topaz-sky day, the Magnificent Mile’s skyscrapers served as backdrop. Aldermen, clergy, federal and state law enforcement officials all stood as socially distanced props. Lightfoot even invited Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx to stand within shouting distance of her new police superintendent, David Brown. Days earlier, Foxx had called out Brown and Lightfoot for “dishonest blame games,” after...
  • Editorial: Kim Foxx’s manipulations in Jussie Smollett case. Why? We still don’t know.

We don’t know why Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx went to bat for actor Jussie Smollett. With Monday’s release of a damning statement from special prosecutor Dan Webb, we have an independent review examining how Foxx blew this case: She cut a deal for a celebrity defendant and misled the public numerous times about her actions. Worse, she made a mockery of a prosecutor’s supposedly equitable treatment of all defendants. Webb cleared Foxx and her office of potential criminal conduct and found no sign that anyone tried to improperly influence Foxx. Good news, we guess, for Foxx’s reelection. Otherwise,...

In a statement on the conclusions of his investigation, special prosecutor Dan Webb sharply criticized the handling of the Smollett case by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and her assistant prosecutors, saying their handling was marked by disarray and misleading statements. Foxx’s office surprised and angered many in Chicago by dropping charges that accused the former “Empire” actor of staging an alleged racist and homophobic attack against himself. Smollett is still adamant that the attack was real and wasn’t a publicity hoax. Webb’s findings announced Monday came after charges were restored against Smollett by the same special prosecutor in...

National Democrats are silent about the violence in Chicago, the skyrocketing increase in murders and shootings, and the mobs of looters who pillaged the city's finest shopping district the other day. There is no political advantage for them to mention the violence in Democratic cities. All they care about is getting rid of President Donald Trump. And the national media — meaning the Democratic Media Complex of the Washington Beltway — is also consumed by Trump. That's understandable. They loathe Trump, and there's a presidential election going on. If they think of Chicago at all, it is to bend Chicago...

  • Chicago's top prosecutor Kim Foxx says claim by Mayor Lori Lightfoot, police chief that she doesn't do enough to bring looters to justice is 'simply not true'

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was at odds with top prosecutor Kim Foxx on Monday after she suggested the surge of lootings on a lack of serious charges earlier this summer that may have encouraged more of the same. All eyes were on Chicago Sunday evening as scores of residents were seen breaking into stores and vandalizing property in a show a widespread looting along Magnificent Mile. A clash between the Chicago Police Department and civilians upset over false claims of an officer-involved shooting of a minor resulted in an embattled night of unrest.

Rioting continues nightly in Portland. Criminals are arrested, immediately released, and return to the streets. It is hard to see how Portland has a viable future. Likewise with Seattle. A city that cannot maintain order will soon be vacated by normal people who are able to leave, leaving only criminals and those without the means to get away. Minneapolis, with its days of rioting followed by skyrocketing crime and parks turned into tent encampments, is not far behind. Panic is spreading among people who own houses and (worse) condominiums there. Then there is Chicago, where mass looting took place last...

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx has dismissed more than 25,000 felony cases - including many involving charges of murder and other serious crimes - in her first three years on the job, a new report shows. Foxx gained notoriety last year when she dropped felony charges against Jussie Smollett, the Empire actor accused of staging a racist, homophobic attack on himself in January 2019. The Chicago Tribune on Monday published an analysis of Foxx's overall record on dropping charges, revealing that she has done so at a rate that's 35 percent higher than her predecessor. In the first three...

I think Soros is pumping a lot of money into Political Opposition "Journalism." I remember when the Weekly Standard, failing and desperate for money and for a new buyer, started claiming that Soros had not meant he helped Nazis catalogue the art collections of Jews when he said he helped Nazis catalogue the art collections of Jews. George Soros seemed very interested in Reputation Management, and more determined than ever to impose socialism on America through spending his millions, and suddenly all sorts of people were very, very interested in helping him.
