The West seemed perfectly willing to support the rebellion against Russian backed Assad, but as soon as those supposedly “moderate” rebels formed ISIS, they turned against them (according to the media at least). But according to a recently declassified document, the US government knew more than they were letting on (gasp) in regards to the formation of ISIS.
