<p>Washington, March 10 (Bloomberg) -- The second U.S. career diplomat in two weeks quit the State Department, citing his opposition to the Bush administration's threats to wage war in Iraq, the department said.</p>
<p>The official, John Brown, a diplomat-in-residence at Georgetown University in Washington, submitted his resignation, effective immediately, in a letter to Secretary of State Colin Powell, State Department spokeswoman Anne Marks said.</p>
