COVINGTON, La. —Covington police arrested two people Thursday in connection with the beating of a teen with autismOn Friday, a 17-year-old with autism was walking home from the library when two boys approached him from behind. One of the boys struck him, breaking his jaw, police said. The teen needed surgery and is recovering from his injuries. Due in large part to the overwhelming assistance from the public, two 14-year-old boys were identified and arrested in connection with the case.

Ibrahim King, 36, was charged with assault just before 4 a.m. at the PATH 9th Street Station for allegedly slugging Elizabeth Meja. The woman’s friend, Steve Sala said, “He looks at her for a very short moment and then he pulls his right fist back and lunges across the railing and punches her in the face.” King tried to flee, but Sala chased him down and applied a choke hold on him. In the scuffle, Sala extracted one of King’s dreadlocks from his scalp.

University of New Mexico cornerback SaQwan Edwards has become the latest student to be arrested in a gang rape in which a female student claims she was assaulted by three men in a moving car. The 21-year-old from Houston remained jailed after surrendering Tuesday on a warrant accusing him of criminal sexual penetration and kidnapping. He has also been dropped from the team.

This week near Dover, Delaware, a viral video appears to show another instance of black-on-white violence among high school students. CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) - Cleveland authorities have made several arrests following the mob beating of a disabled Army veteran by a group of teenagers. Last Friday, the victim, Matthew Robinson, was surrounded by between six and eight teenagers while riding the RTA Healthline. An ultra-Orthodox Jewish man is the latest victim in a series of unprovoked assaults in Brooklyn, and the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is involved in the investigation.
