GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Bryce Stanfield, a student-athlete who was hospitalized after a medical emergency, has passed away, Furman University announced on Friday. Stanfield, a 21-year-old football player and health sciences major, collapsed during a workout Wednesday morning at Paladin Stadium. He was taken to the hospital and placed on life support. His coaches said he had a back strain that had limited what he could do before practices started, but it was something he had been dealing with and was being rehabbed to get ready for the season. They were not aware of any other medical issues

President Joe Biden's plan to cancel up to $40,000 of student loan debt for households earning $249,000 a year is "reckless" and "indefensible," former Obama adviser Jason Furman said Wednesday. Furman, a Harvard professor who served as deputy director of the U.S. National Economic Council, denounced the administration's proposal in a lengthy Twitter thread. "Pouring roughly half trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning is reckless," he wrote. "Doing it while going well beyond one campaign promise ($10K of student loan relief) and breaking another (all proposals paid for) is even worse." In response to...

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN International’s “Quest Means Business,” Jason Furman, who served as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama and on the Council of Economic Advisers and the National Economic Council under President Bill Clinton and is currently a Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy at Harvard University and the Harvard Kennedy School, stated that while some action was needed, President Joe Biden’s economic stimulus plan was too big, badly designed, ultimately “brought us a lot more inflation than it did in terms of economic growth.” And “got the balance wrong.”

A federal judge in New York said on Tuesday that the Justice Department cannot swap out its legal team in the census citizenship question case. "Defendants provide no reasons, let alone 'satisfactory reasons,' for the substitution of counsel," wrote District Judge Jesse Furman, citing upcoming deadlines. "As this Court observed many months ago, this case has been litigated on the premise -- based 'in no small part' on Defendants' own 'insist(ence)' -- that the speedy resolution of Plaintiffs' claims is a matter of great private and public importance."

Whenever something bad happens to America, look for the connection back to Obama's boss, George Soros. This time, it's the IRS using its considerable muscle to bully conservative organizations with the ultimate goal of voter suppression. Jeffrey Lord, writing for The American Spectator points to Jason Furman, Obama's top economic adviser. It's a position that, by the way, did not require senate approval. While Lord's column was focused on 17 year tax cheat, Charlie Rangel who was never harassed by the IRS, it reveals some interesting facts about Furman as well as former IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. Just last week...

When Eli Lake's story regarding J Street's donor list was published the role of George Soros created controversy. Soros has a long history of funding anti-Israel activism so his role at J Street was deliberately hidden by the group for years. Now more revelations have started to leak. I did a bit of further research (hat tip: Cheryl Lewin) about another donor and supporter of J Street: Gail Furman. She sits on its advisory council and is a donor listed on its Form 990 . She is also a member of the board of the Soros-created Democracy Alliance - a...

DAY 14 AFTER PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES SOCIAL SECURITY PROPOSAL; DEMOCRATS TO CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS: COME UP WITH A PLAN "Two weeks after President Bush outlined a clear course to permanently strengthen Social Security for future generations, Democrats have yet to offer anything more than angry political attacks. It's disappointing Democrats still don't understand they are the minority party because of their failure to offer a positive agenda, and even former Democrat leaders agree that their party's obstructionism is not a substitute for real ideas. If Democrats want to maintain any credibility, they need to stop saying 'no' and start coming to the negotiating...
