An intern for Democratic Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has been arrested and charged with battery after she threw chocolate milk on a group of College Republicans tabling on campus. The far-left student activist who had the profanity-laced meltdown, Shelby Shoup, is listed as an intern for the Andrew Gillum for Florida Governor Campaign on LinkedIn and a member of FSU Students for Justice in Palestine. Shoup threw her drink on SFU College Republicans Chair Daisy Judge, and when another student passing by tried to de-escalate the situation, she threw the remainder of her drink on him. “You are supporting...

brooding military veteran and former teacher who railed at women and blacks in a series of poorly lit videos shot two women to death and wounded five other people at a Florida yoga studio before killing himself. The Friday evening shooting at a busy upscale shopping plaza jolted the state capital and police said they were still searching for a motive that led to the deaths of a Florida State University student and a well-known local doctor who was a member of the school faculty.

In what I can only imagine was a move to redistribute private property, Florida's Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum's self-admitted communist intern has been arrested for throwing chocolate milk on a group of Florida State University College Republicans among other misbehavior, reports Fox News. Apparently, earlier this week Shelby Shoup believed it her duty to inform the College Republicans they were supporting Nazis. When College Republicans pointed out she was wearing a communist pin and supported communists, she said, "Yeah, I f*cking am." Then, according to Fox, "Shoup threw her drink on SFU College Republicans Vice-Membership Chair, Daisy Judge, and...

Florida State University has indefinitely suspended all Greek activities on campus following the death of a fraternity pledge. FSU President John Thrasher announced the suspension on Monday, according to the university’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. “For this suspension to end, there will need to be a new normal for Greek Life at the university,” he said. “There must be a new culture, and our students must be full participants in creating it.”

"It wasn’t perfect, but it was a big win over a good team" If 24 hours ago, I had told you that Alabama would defeat third-ranked Florida State 24-7, how would you feel? Happy? Thrilled? Relieved? Or maybe somewhere within? Then why don’t you feel that way now? Maybe Nick Saban has spoiled us, the Tide fans. Well, it is time to heed the advice that Saban shared with AJ McCarron a few years ago. Paraphrasing: “Calm Down”. Despite the big win over a potential playoff team, some Alabama fans are still wringing their hands and complaining about this and...

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) -- The Martin County Sheriff's Office identified the face-biting suspect accused of killing a couple near Tequesta as Florida State University student Austin Harrouff. The 19-year-old fraternity member had no known connections to the victims. Deputies said the attack was random and unprovoked. According to the Sheriff's Office, Harrouff stabbed John Joseph Stevens III and Michelle Karen Mishcon to death Monday night before attacking a neighbor who tried to intervene. Deputies encountered Harrouff biting off the face of Stevens. Authorities tried to use a stun gun to get Harrouff off the victim, but that didn't work....

He grabs her arm. She attempts to hit him. He punches her in the face. Although the surveillance video was released Monday, the incident took place June 24, inside Yianni’s nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida. Fisher later said that Johnson had been dismissed from the team, effective immediately. The former freshman quarterback is also being charged with battery. The woman in the video suffered bruising under her left eye, swelling to the left cheek and upper lip, and a...

Last month there was a shooting at Florida State University where three students were shot by a mentally disturbed man before the police arrived. One of the students had a concealed carry permit, but was not allowed to have his defensive firearm with him. Another witness was a combat veteran who said that he had a clear shot at the attacker, but was also prevented from having his firearm with him by current law. A bill has been filed in the Florida Senate to restore the ability of permit holders to carry their firearms on campus, as they can...

Several media pundits have opined over the last several months that it almost appears that divine intervention is playing a role in the continuing close, come-from-behind victories that Florida State University has achieved this season. If so, would that be a valid reason for the Football Playoff Committee to exclude FSU from the Top Four? After all, Alabama would not want to play America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, so they SURELY would not want to play God's Team, no?

Cork Gaines December 3, 2014The college football playoff committee has released its latest ranking and it is a terrible sign for the undefeated defending national champions, Florida State. The one big shakeup in the ranking came with TCU jumping up to take the spot in the top four vacated by Mississippi State who lost to Ole Miss. But more importantly, TCU leapfrogged past Florida State who fell to no. 4 after struggling to get by Florida. Here are the new rankings for the seven teams that still have a realistic shot to make the playoff: 1.Alabama 2.Oregon 3.TCU 4.Florida State...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In the early morning hours of Oct. 5, as this college town was celebrating another big football victory by Florida State University, a starting cornerback on the team drove his car into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by a teenager returning home from a job at the Olive Garden. Both cars were totaled. But rather than remain at the scene as the law requires, the football player, P. J. Williams, left his wrecked vehicle in the street and fled into the darkness along with his two passengers, including Ronald Darby, the team’s other starting cornerback.

Academia is up in arms. The board of trustees at Florida State University (FSU) just named a Republican to be its president. Something called the FSU Progress Coalition just posted its concerns on the Academe blog maintained by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP): “Throughout the presidential search process at Florida State University, students were told that their voices were being heard. But really? Who was listening? The media was listening, the nation was listening, FSU alumni, faculty, and staff were listening. But the corporate/political elite, the 11 members of the Board of Trustees that voted for John Thrasher...

Tony ManfredSeptember 24, 2014Anonymous NFL scouts ripped into Jameis Winston after he was suspended for the Clemson game for jumping on a table and reciting a profanity-laced meme. The Florida State quarterback, who has faced a slew of off-field controversies over the last 12 months, was considered the best player in the 2015 NFL Draft by ESPN and CBS as recently as August. Now NFL talent evaluators have their doubts. One scout told Albert Breer of the NFL Network that he was a "fraud." He's presumably referring to reports that Winston lied about his table-jumping incident in his original meeting...

Nearly 21 months after a female student accused Jameis Winston, Florida State’s marquee quarterback, of sexually assaulting her in his apartment, the university has begun a disciplinary inquiry into the case, the woman’s lawyer said Thursday. Florida State officials interviewed the woman last month, spending a little more than an hour asking questions, said the lawyer, John Clune. “We thought it went very well,” he said. “The school seemed to take it very seriously.” Other people connected to the case were also interviewed, he added, but he declined to identify them. Clune’s client withdrew from Florida State late last year...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS Tampa/AP) — Florida State’s Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston has been suspended from the university’s baseball team after being issued a citation for stealing crab legs. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that Winston was caught shoplifting at a Tallahassee Publix Monday night and was issued a citation. Major Michael Wood said during a press conference that Winston told authorities that he just forgot to pay the $32 for the crab legs and other seafood items. “Jameis Winston has not been arrested for any crime. He was issued a civil citation,” Wood said. Wood added that...
