WDOD Radio Switches From Air America To Music Format (Chattanooga, TN)

Chattanooga’s oldest radio station, WDOD, has ended its 11-month experiment with progressive talk radio. At 10 a.m. this past Monday, the station switched to a format featuring musical oldies and standards from the late 1950s and the 1960s and 1970s, according to Danny Howard, director of programming and operations for WDEF and WDOD. The new format, which is locally controlled, is known around the station as Ruby AM 1310. Who’s Ruby? “It’s kind of funny,” Mr. Howard said with a laugh. “When we started talking about doing this, it turned out that everybody had an Aunt Ruby or a grandmother...

Air America Deflates Despite Bush's Slide

Just past its second birthday, Air America, the Left’s great hope to defeat the Right in the talk radio wars, has no reason to celebrate. Winter 2006 Arbitron ratings, leaked to Matt Drudge earlier this week and reported in greater detail by the invaluable Radio Equalizer blog, show Air America registering a weak 1.0 share in Los Angeles, an even tinier share in Chicago, and a catastrophic drop in New York City, where flagship station WLIB hemorrhaged nearly half its listenership over the last ratings period, falling from a mediocre 1.4 to a pathetic 0.8 share. That’s smaller than the...

DUmmie FUnnies 05-19-06 (TruthOut Issues Non-Apology "Apology" For Hoaxmas)

At 4:23 PM today, TruthOut issued a non-apology apology over Hoaxmas. It sort of looks like an apology but it really ISN'T an apology. What it really is is a heaping load of of unadulterated BULL. As we shall see, not even the DUmmies are buying it. So let us now jump right in with the lame NON-APOLOGY APOLOGY typed out in a fit of desperation by TruthOut's Marc Ash in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, hoping that Pied Piper Pitt has a designated driver wherever he is tonight, is in the [brackets]: The Rove...

DUmmie FUnnies 05-15-06 (Pied Piper PItt Bets The Farm On Fitzmas)

Have any of you ever been to the EMERALD COAST BUFFET in South Florida? If so then you know that the food display, especially the seafood, is so overwhelmingly rich and lavish that one hardly knows where to begin. Well, I feel the same way about this edition of the DUmmie FUnnies. Pied Piper Pitt has provided us with a FEAST upon which to dine and savor the flavor of his his downfall. It is just TOO DELECTABLE. One hardly knows where to begin the feast so let us begin at the beginning back on early Friday evening when...
