Is there a list of websites somewhere in the FR website that shows websites FR will not allow posts?

From FR homepage: Over 400,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic since inception in 1996 and our forum is read daily by over one hundred thousand freedom loving citizens and patriots from all around the country, and all around the world. We're currently delivering over twenty million pageviews per month to over one million monthly visitors. Oh, we're big stuff all right:

I just noticed that if you hover over a posters ID, it shows you how long they've been here. Cool! Is this new?

I have a question to FReepers out there, and also the Moderators. I was recently suspended from posting for several days, TWICE for the reason that I was posting the article of authors who are banned from this site. Being suspended means you cannot even send a message to the moderator, so I was unable to ask for clarification. Had I been allowed to send a message, I would at least know the name of the author whose article was not welcome. I learned that the article of one such writer -- C. Edmund Wright ( who used to be a...

Need FR help. Yes, I am logged on. When logged on, FR loads onto the general latest comments page rather than the latest articles/forum page. When I click on the Forum tab at the top, it loads the latest comments page. Can't load the Forum page no matter what. When I log out and go to FR, the Forum page automatically loads as it should. But when I log on, it goes back to the latest comments page and I still can't get to the Forum page not matter what. Scanned through my account page but don't see anything helpful....

Currently using Firefox to login and post because, today, I can no longer login with IE9 as I have for 15 years. I reach the main forum page, nut not logged in as usual (convenient was selected). Tried to login and got: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" What's up with that? My system info: IE-9 (both 32 & 64-bit) Version: 9.0.8112.16421 Update Version: 9.0.59 (KB4012204) Cipher Strength: 256-bit Product ID: 03553-997-7332157-00141 Windows Vista HP SP2 64-bit AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core Processor 2.30 Ghz Ram: 4.00 GB (browser used for this post: Firefox ESR 52.4.0 (32-bit)) I prefer IE for...

<p>The illiberal progressives are trying to knock us offline. We're fighting the good fight and will not succumb. I'm sniping the most annoying ones by hand, then two more show up to replace him. Going to experiment with an automated system to nuke 'em. SkyNet lives.</p>

Wanted to avoid running a thread on this, but seeing as how it continues dragging on, guess I'd better. The DOS attacker obviously knows by now that he's hurting us. Have no idea when he/they started the attack, but we discovered it a few days ago. And John has been fighting it ever since. Says it's like whack-a-mole. Every time John gets him blocked or knocked out, he pops up again with a new modified attack. John thought he had a good solution a couple days ago, and we did enjoy one night and most of the next day with...

FR has been completely down for a few minutes. I checked it with a "Is It Down?" website or two. Now supposedly it's up, but you can't move from one link to another. Or if it manages to get to that other link, it's after you've knit a sweater starting with a ball of yarn. What's up with FR today?

Super slow today; even times out with the message below. Is there not enough bandwidth or computing power? It's practically unusable when it's like this.
-
Apparently the security (https) is having trouble with the name resolution or something

I've always wondered about the origins and meanings (if any) behind others Freeper handles. Its a quiet Sunday morning, so I thought it would be an interesting topic to start the day. What's the story behind your handle?

Response time seems to be back to normal (for now). Sorry, don't know why. The system was dragging all day, but started working normally for the past hour or so. Thought maybe John had found and fixed the problem, but he said no. He doesn't know either. We have several servers running at the data center and most of them have been running fine. Could be the network switch or the front-end router/server (but it seems to be working fine). The database server isn't even breathing hard. The webservers are getting bogged down occasionally, but don't know yet if that's...

I'm very sorry (again), but our recurring response time nightmare is back (again). The good news, though, is John has finally checked in. He's been out of town a lot in the last couple weeks dealing with some urgent family issues regarding his other half's adopted child. Praying that works out soon. He also says his phone needs to be replaced and has not had time to get it done. The bad news is, he has not been able to resolve our server issue yet. He suspects it's some kind of intermittent error in our network switch or router and...

Hoping John checks-in soon to fix it, but it seems to load pages better right now with preferences set to 20: http://freerepublic.com/perl/settings Sorry.

Is anyone else seeing a very slow response from Free Republic?

Welcome Newcomers! This Sandbox is devoted to giving you a place to practice basic HTML, and to get some coaching. So, first things first: Go to michigander's [ HTML Bootcamp (Cyber patriot training)] and learn there how to change font color, font size, font face, and the like. THERE'S A WEALTH OF INFORMATION THERE NOT COVERED HERE (so as to avoid duplication). Learn there also how to post a link and an image, then come back here to practice. If you're having problems, folks will drop by occasionally to give you pointers and help you troubleshoot. Boring posts are...
