In a plea hearing on Thursday, 32-year-old Emerson Evans was sentenced to seven years in prison. On Aug. 22, 2025, police were called to an apartment in South Bloomington. That is where officers said they found a crying woman surrounded by a large amount of blood and abortion pills. At the time, she was seven weeks pregnant and planned to have the baby.
