TV bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman knows there are some fugitives even he can’t bring to justice. The star of CMT’s “Dog and Beth: On The Hunt” admits he probably would not be able to capture escaped Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán — and doesn’t even plan to try.

A public defender is demanding that TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman be charged with felonies for claiming that a man fired a gun at him and his crew while they were filming in Colorado Springs last month. Attorney William Schoewe (SHOW'-ee) alleges Chapman and others made up the claim to boost publicity for the A&E reality show "Dog The Bounty Hunter." Prosecutors dropped charges against a suspect, saying the evidence was insufficient. Schoewe filed a motion Friday asking a judge to force prosecutors to charge Chapman and others with attempting to influence a public servant and false reporting.

Sources close to the Duane "Dog" Chapman legal case tell TMZ that the Mexican courts have put a stay on further legal proceedings in the bounty hunter's matter. Meanwhile, the reality star's legal team is gathering more evidence as to his actions while in Mexico, and sources tell TMZ that when the evidence is presented, the Mexican court is expected to rule "favorably." Chapman's saga began last month when he was arrested along with two cohorts, including his son Leland, in Mexico on charges of illegal detention and conspiracy in connection with his apprenhension of convicted rapist and Max Factor...

Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo is urging Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice not to extradite bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman to Mexico. In September, United States marshals arrested Chapman and the two men who helped him track down a fugitive in Mexico. Chapman and the men found Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in June 2003. Luster disappeared during his rape and poisoning trial. Luster was convicted of 86 counts of drugging and assaulting women in his absence. Chapman received a tip about Luster's whereabouts in Mexico. MSNBC's Rita Cosby is reporting that Duane Dog Chapman, star of the A&E reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," and two members of his bounty hunting team (including his son) were arrested by U.S. officials today for extradition to Mexico. Cosby is reporting that Mexican government officials wanted the three men sent back there in relation to a three-year-old case. In 2003, Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term.
