A man who lives across the street from a prominent drug treatment program was arrested Tuesday night on charges involving almost 1,900 packets of heroin, according to authorities. The suspect, 24-year-old Lirse Jones, was wearing an ankle bracelet because he is on probation stemming from a previous drug conviction, according to Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik. Narcotics detectives spotted Jones pacing back and forth near the corner of Straight Street and 20th Avenue while on his cell phone, the sheriff said. Shortly after that, a man driving a black Range Rover pulled up to the curb and made an exchange...

How low will she go? We already know that the Clinton Foundation has rather…uh…lax standards when it comes to accepting massive donations. But now Hillary Clinton has attended a campaign fundraiser at the home of a convicted drug dealer. Anita Kumar of McClatchy writes: Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination for president, attended a fundraiser in New York hosted by John Zaccaro, convicted on felony drug charges after he sold cocaine to an undercover cop. The 1988 conviction of the son of unsuccessful Democratic vice presidential candidate Gerraldine Ferraro was reported in numerous publications at the time....

n one of the most ridiculous photo-ops of his career Obama visited a federal prison on Thursday. This is part of his legacy push to release as many scumbags back on to the streets as possible, or as he calls it “justice reform.” During an otherwise uneventful waste of time and money a funny thing happened: the President of the United States admitted that he used to be a drug dealer or possibly drug trafficker. It’s hard not to feel the patriotic pride. Obama’s visit to the El Reno minimum-security prison in Oklahoma was as bullsh*t as it gets. ABC...

School officials in northern Colorado are asking parents to take care with their newly legal recreational marijuana, after fourth graders were caught dealing the drug on an elementary school campus. John Gates, director of safety for Weld County School District 6, said Wednesday that the students involved, three 10-year-old boys and a 10-year-old girl at Greeley’s Monfort Elementary School, faced tough discipline but not suspension or expulsion. He would not elaborate on their punishment. […] The marijuana appears to have been legally purchased by adults—grandparents in two families—and no charges were expected to be filed, Gates said. He said the...

Katrina Tisdale had second thoughts after giving her last $50 to a drug dealer Monday night. So she did what many people do when in trouble: called 911. Tisdale took this step before. In July 2011, when a similar thing happened, she called 911. That got her a trip to jail. The same thing happened this time. After she called 911 twice about a theft, officers met with the 47-year-old about 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Fourth Street N. Tisdale demanded police get her money back, authorities said. Tisdale was upset, police said, because she was broke...

The chemicals were stored in vats in the basement of an Egyptian restaurant in downtown Brussels. The suicide bomber, a former soccer player who had fallen into drug use and petty crime, had been selected. The target, the American Embassy in Paris, had been scouted. All that remained was the signal from Osama bin Laden's operatives in Afghanistan to strike. The nod was to come from a Frenchman of Algerian origin who was on his way back from training in Afghanistan. But he was arrested in transit, and he talked, spilling to French interrogators details of what could have been ...

When the Tea Party first started out, I was a enthusiastic supporter.. The Tea Party perfectly represented what my views are.. I'm a 100% fiscal conservative and I believe in small government on ALL issues. In the beginning, the Tea Party seemed to be such movement that would support candidates based on FISCAL issues. Initially, that was the case and people like Scott Brown have been elected. However, since then, it seems like the Tea Party Express and other Tea Party organizations have been hijacked by the social conservative wing of the GOP (i.e. Sarah Palin). Social issues were introduced...

The Supreme Court ruled in favor today of claims made by a lawful permanent resident of the United States who said his rights were violated when his lawyer failed to tell him that if he pleaded guilty to drug distribution charges he could be deported. A 7-2 court held today that Padilla's counsel was obliged to inform him that his guilty plea would lead to his deportation. Justice Stevens wrote, "We agree with Padilla that constitutionally competent counsel would have advised him that his conviction for drug distribution made him subject to automatic deportation." "It is our responsibility," the court...

Barack Obama does not say much about his years in New York City. The time he spent as an undergraduate at Columbia College and then working in Manhattan in the early 1980s surfaces only fleetingly in his memoir. In the book, he casts himself as a solitary wanderer in the metropolis, the outsider searching for a way to “make myself of some use.” He tells of underheated sublets, a night spent in an alley, a dead neighbor on the landing. From their fire escape, he and an unnamed roommate watch “white people from the better neighborhoods” bring their dogs to...

Last November, I wrote about the case of Hillary Clinton backer Mauricio Celis, whose ownership of a law practice resulted in an indictment containing charges of impersonating a lawyer and fraudulent business practices. Now the state of Texas has a new investigation of Celis which includes money laundering and suspected involvement in Mexican drug cartels: Mauricio Celis is linked to the Mexican drug trade in a search warrant the state used Friday to raid his law offices and gather computer files, according to financial documents and other business records. The warrant includes a sworn statement by a Texas Attorney General's...
