During an interview with CNN aired on Friday’s broadcast of “NewsNight,” New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) stated that “a lot of” the disapproval among independent voters of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy is because “we’re in a Republican primary. And so, all of the noise and all of the media is really focused on that primary.” And “they’re hammering every day that this is a bad economy, and it’s false” and that view that the economy is poor has become “normalized” for people. Host Abby Phillip asked, “Gov. Lujan Grisham, 60% of independent voters disagree with...

A top adviser to President Donald Trump indicated Sunday that Trump is prepared to issue the first veto of his term if Congress votes to disapprove of his declaration of a national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border. White House senior adviser Stephen Miller told “Fox News Sunday” that “the president is going to protect his national emergency declaration.” Asked if that meant Trump was ready to veto, Miller added, “He’s going to protect his national emergency declaration, guaranteed.” Trump declared the emergency Friday in an effort to go around Congress to fund his border wall. It would allow him to...

Barack Obama's approval scores have plunged into the low 40s as a majority of Americans now say they disapprove of the job he's doing as president. The Gallup Poll's nationwide survey showed this week that between 52 and 53 percent of adult Americans gave Obama failing grades on his performance in office. Only 43 percent approved of the job he's been doing. His sluggish, sub-par, part-time-job economy was the chief factor, as it has been throughout his presidency. But the sharp rise in deadly terrorist attacks in Europe and reports of plots on the United States contributed to fears that...

Facebook is thinking about adding a way to "dislike" posts on its site, founder Mark Zuckerberg has said. Speaking at a Q&A session in California, he said it was one of the most requested features the social network receives from its users. He said the site would need to find a way to make sure it did not become a way to demean people's posts.

The Congressional Review Act of 1996 established expedited (or “fast track”) procedures by which Congress may disapprove a broad range of regulatory rules issued by federal agencies by enacting a joint resolution of disapproval. For initial floor consideration, the Act provides an expedited procedure only in the Senate. (The House would likely consider the measure pursuant to a special rule.) The Senate may use the procedure for 60 days of session after the agency transmits the rule to Congress. In both houses, however, to qualify for expedited consideration, a disapproval resolution must be submitted within 60 days after Congress receives...

A new poll shows Americans' disdain for Congress is weaker than it has been in more than three years, but neither party has much to brag about. The Washington Post-ABC News poll shows 50 percent of Americans say they "strongly" disapprove of the way Congress is doing its job. The good news: That's the lowest that number has been since March 2011. The bad news: It's still half the country really disliking Congress. And when it comes to the two major parties, the improvement doesn't really show. In fact, congressional Democrats are facing their highest disapproval rating in at least...

President Barack Obama is struggling to overcome widespread pessimism about the economy and deep frustration with Washington, notching the lowest job-approval ratings of his presidency in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. The results suggest Mr. Obama could weigh on fellow Democrats in midterm elections this fall, particularly in the conservative states that will play a large role in deciding whether his party retains its Senate majority. Mr. Obama's job approval ticked down to 41% in March from 43% in January, marking a new low. Some 54% disapproved of the job he is doing, matching a previous high from...

A Pew Research Center survey found that public views of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act “are as negative as ever, and many are unaware of the elements of the law that will be going into place.” According to the survey, “opinions are now as negative as they have been at any point since the bill’s passage,” as 53 percent of Americans disapprove of the regulation-ridden health care law, commonly known as “Obamacare,” while 42 percent approve. The survey was conducted less than a month before the law’s health insurance exchanges open on October 1st. …

Under President Obama, "justice" is anything but blind. Neither is it deaf. In fact, based on recent revelations, it appears to be watching your every move and listening to your every word. Still, if you happen to be a federal employee, now it´s even listening for your silence. The only thing this Obama White House seems to generate is scandal. Well, here´s yet another to add to the growing list. In addition to the Benghazi cover-up, IRS targeting of political dissenters and the illegal seizure of media phone records, whistleblowers within DOJ have contacted Liberty Counsel

Far from becoming more popular as it begins to be implemented, Obama’s signature legislative achievement draws ever lower levels of approval and support as more and more Americans “find out what’s in it.†According to a tracking poll by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation, just 34 percent of Americans view the law favorably — the lowest level of approval since Obama signed the legislation into law in March of last year.Interestingly, waning approval among Democrats drove this. In October, just 52 percent of Democrats viewed Obamacare positively, compared to 65 percent who liked the law a month ago. Support among...
