Detroit, Michigan, cut its murder rate down to a 60-year-low by simply ignoring liberal crime policies, holding criminals accountable and hiring more police, a report from the city showed. The city recorded 228 homicides this year as of Nov. 30, marking an 18% drop compared to the same time last year, according to the report. Detroit hit its lowest homicide rate in 60 years back in 2018 when it recorded 261 homicides, meaning 2023 could soon make a new record, Detroit Free Press noted. In order to make the historic moment happen, leaders simply did the obvious: Locked criminals up....

If you dare to travel to these cities, make sure you are with someone else. It’s always better to have two sets of eyes looking out. This offers increased safety and protection against the unknown. As The Active Times explores the most dangerous cities to travel alone, it listed Mexico City as being number one based on kidnapping, robberies and assaults. In fact, it went so far as stating that the "U.S. Department of State issued a warning about traveling to certain places in Mexico due to threats and safety." Number two on the list? Detroit. The Active Times writes "Although...

In the Industrial Midwest, the city government of Detroit went into bankruptcy in July. Out in California, the city governments of Stockton and San Bernardino entered bankruptcy proceedings in 2012. But the Detroit and California bankruptcies, like Tolstoy's unhappy families, are not alike. They suffer from quite different ailments. You can see the difference by comparing their populations in the 1950 and 2010 Censuses. In 1950 Detroit, then the nation's fifth-largest city, had 1,849,568 people. In 2010 it had 713,777. Stockton and San Bernardino were not much more than small towns in 1950, with 70,853 and 63,058, respectively. Their total...

DETROIT (WWJ) – The men and women of the Detroit Police Department believe the city is too dangerous to enter, and they want citizens to know it. Detroit Police Officer Association (DPOA) Attorney Donato Iorio said officers are holding the “Enter At Your Own Risk” rally at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in front of Comerica Park to remind the public that the officers are overworked, understaffed, and at times, fearful for their lives. “Detroit is America’s most violent city, its homicide rate is the highest in the country and yet the Detroit Police Department is grossly understaffed,” Iorio told WWJ’s Kathryn...

Remember Clint Eastwood’s insulting Super Bowl commercial about Detroit’s comeback? Using the voice we have come to recognize as a source of “truth justice and the American way” he tried to fool us into believing Detroit was “too tough to die” and all that Democrat wishful thinking. Clearly Dirty Harry didn’t do his homework because Detroit is sinking faster than the Titanic and Democrat fantasies can’t change that reality. The Democrat infected Motor City is more on course to become “Greece” than a new “grease monkey’s” paradise. All of the make believe about Detroit’s recovery will come to a crashing...
