Honor Roll for tonight: Staytrue, BillF, Angelwood, tgslTakoma, GunsareOK, BufordP, Trueblackman, sauropod and kristinn. An officer with the Federal Protective Service ordered the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic to stop addressing Democrats waiting across the street to enter the Democratic Party's Unity Dinner in Washington, D.C. tonight.Members of the D.C. Chapter had been peaceably assembled for two hours exercising their First Amendment rights with protest signs and their unaided voices. Apparently the litany of Democrat 'sins' grew too much for this officer to bear so he walked across the street to give a cease and desist order to the FReepers.I had...

Sorry if this a repost... passersby (L) argues with Iraqi war supporters near the White House in Washington, March 15, 2004. The war against Iraq (news - web sites) was the right action to take because Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) posed an 'urgent' threat, U.S. officials said on Sunday, as they defended the U.S.-led invasion on its first anniversary. The Bush administration, a year after the March U.S.-led invasion, is dogged by questions of whether it exaggerated the threat from Iraq to gather support for the war, as no stockpiles of biological or chemical weapons have been found....

The leftists are planning many events next weekend. FReepers, here is your chance to take it to the streets in a town near you!.......

Leftists participated in a ghoulish attempt to exploit war dead and wounded for propaganda as noted in this thread: Dover to D.C. Memorial Procession [Left Blood Dance DoverAFB to Walter Reed Hospital, W House]. The Doctor of FReep conducted a spectacular one man FReep of the leftists outside Dover Air Force Base yesterday as noted in this thread: Code Pinko Medea Benjamin Flees When Confronted by Doctor Raoul at Dover AFB. Today, the left hit a low point. Demonstrating outside Walter Reed Army Hospital, where many of our most seriously wounded Iraqi troops are, the leftists numbered about a hundred...

<p>Undaunted by blustery March winds, a small-but-determined group rallied on the Mall yesterday to cheer and show support for American troops serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and trouble spots around the world.</p>
<p>The two-hour "Support Our Troops Rally" began at noon and drew about 50 people. The group waved American flags and listened to a series of short speeches by representatives of groups such as the Blue Star Mothers of America Inc., the sponsor of the rally, Rolling Thunder, Free Iraq, the Congress of Racial Equality, the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic and Operation Free Spike Inc.</p>

Here are some photos from yesterdays Support the Troops Rally in Washington DC. It was an enthusiatic, though small, band of supporters. I'm sure our speaker system was heard all along the National Mall (it was loud). http://Vets4Bush.com/BlueStarMoms/index.htm We also had a nice talk about POW/MIA Scott Speicher

James Carville, looking none-too-happy, and alone, in cab after a FReeping by Kristinn and Doctor Raoul Last night Kristinn and Doctor Raoul had a little fun outside the site of the Gridiron Club Dinner. Doctor Raoul was in his Saddam costume and holding a sign that read, "Save me - Vote Democrat." Kristinn held a sign that read, "I'm not Fonda Hanoi John Kerry."Passers-by and arrivals to the dinner, as well as limo drivers, cabbies, and others, enjoyed the messages.

The phrase “student activists” usually conjures up images of sign-waving protestors railing against various evils of the establishment. Indeed, for decades after the modern student movement began at the University of California-Berkeley in the 1960s, such protestors were traditionally liberal —and reflexively so, given that administrations were comparatively conservative. But now that today’s educational establishment is populated with yesterday’s student radicals, conservatives find themselves in the odd position of being the protestors. But rather than rely on disruptive tactics, modern conservatives are improving on plays from the liberal handbook: They’re making their points with wit and humor, not catcalling and...

Senator John Kerry ('Rat-MA) held his Super Tuesday victory celebration tonight in Washington, D.C. I was watching at home on TV as the cable networks waited on Kerry to make his speech. I couldn't make out where the party was being held, but after a while I heard C-SPAN mention it was at the Old Post Office Pavillion in downtown.(Expletive deleted) I cried out. That's just around the corner from me. So I got myself together and whipped out posterboard and marker. I was ready to leave just as Kerry was finishing his speech.I walked over to the Old Post...

Look closely at the photos - just below Colin Powell, and to the right of Al Sharpton, you will see one of the hundreds of "anti-war" rally posters that had been plastered to lightboxes throughout the city. The photo had been taken after the DC Chapter's stealth "Truth in Advertising Team" had made their rounds one evening. The team of four, led by a former military PsyOp expert, made several late-night missions onto the mean streets of DC to place the stickers. We would go out one night and hit all the boxes around Union Station, the Capitol, Supreme Court,...

The week leading up to the DC Chapter's first year as a paying exhibitor at CPAC was hectic, with everyone working long into the night at their homes, printing up flyers, burning DVDs, compiling PowerPoint presentations, printing photos and business cards, and in Doctor Raoul's case, organizing his bags of tricks and getting t-shirts printed. There were times that some of us wondered if we could pull it all together for CPAC and still keep our families and jobs; but it all fell into place on Wednesday evening as we gathered to set up. Angelwood brought a wide assortment of...

I am a journalist and have done stories on counter-protesters. I attended the October 25th FR rally in D.C. and also acompanied the Protest Warriors to the their infiltration. Most of the Freeper comments I've seen seem to support the PW intention but not the tactics. Why is this? Is it because of potential risk? Is it because of they do not attain permits and are thus not following the law? Is it because you do not want similar tactics employed at your rallies? I'd appreciate any comments.
